WOW! You actually have a great sleeper! Can you believe that you are one of the lucky ones? At 4 months I was still up every 2 - 3 hours around the clock. 5 continuous hours is what is considered sleeping through the night for a baby. Sleep is a developmental milestone reached in baby's own time. It will come when he is ready. Unfortunately no sleep is one of the things that go with being a mother. If he sleeps so well with you I would suggest co-sleeping. Remember to follow the safety measures so you can co-sleep safely. You could also try laying baby on your shirt (the one you wore that day) when placing him in the crib. Also at 4 months they go through this weird no sleep thing due to all of the excitement. Here is a great article that may make you feel better.

Thank you mamal for the advice and the wonderful compliment. I am going to try the shirt in his crib that's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that? lol ↑ |
I just posted about my nine month old not sleeping that great and of a ton of responses there was only one person with a baby who had a full night sleeper. Ian usually sleeps in his bed from 7 p.m. until about 2 a.m. and then he sleeps with us. He nurses at 4 a.m. every morning for a half hour so it actually works out better for me. I know some day he will sleep better so am trying to be patient. Hang in there and keep up the great work!! ↑ |
my daughter has been sleeping through the whole night since she was like 3 months old. i got lucky. now she sleeps from like between 8-10 pm til 9:30 am. its great. when i was breatfeeding, i layed next to her and fed her with both of us on our sides, until she fell asleep then i put her in her crib and she didnt wake up for a while.. ↑ |
