Hi all... since I do not feel at home at any other blogs, I decided to post here.. Breastfeeding is done now but, You are all so knowledgeable.. Mamal... let me know your thoughts..

My now 7 month old has had a fever, congestion and sniffles... Highest fever has been 101.8.. with today at 99ish, to 100.4.. doc said it is teething and to give him some motrin for the fever.. He is just such a happy kid that seeing him so miserable and the lack of sleep for mom and dad is so painful for us... I feel so bad.. Do you think he has something else besides teething and anything I can do besides the biscuits, ambesol and cold rings to make my little guy feel better... I hope he is not sick sick and we are not missing something.. The doc said ears look great and he is staying hydrated... HELP..... thanks ladies.. .

All of those symptoms can be side effects of teething but all the books say that fever is not a side effect BUT a lot of babies get fevers while teething so that tells us nothing. LOL! I would keep an eye on everything and make sure he is not pulling or touching his ears a lot, if you see that go right back to the Dr. Make sure you keep up with the Motrin (should be around every 6 hrs) so there is no possibility of a spike in the fever. You may want to try teething tablets, they are homeopathic and carried everywhere, many parents swear by them. Also as Dr has said keep him hydrated. The best way is with breastmilk / formula, no need to add water to his diet. I hope he is feeling better soon.
