i have been breastfeedin my baby since day 1. but now he would prefer a bottle over my breast. my boobs hurt really bad like when theyre full so i squeeze it out. should i just not touch them? will squeezing it out make them produce more again? will not touching them make them dry up?

Don't touch them, take regular painkillers and wear a good-fitting bra. It'll soon disappear. If you squeeze them they'll hurt more.

i heard if you take raw cabbage leaves and put them into your bra it will take the pain away from your breasts and it will dry up your milk. let me know if it works

the more you express milk the more your body will produce..it's because of supply and demand. just wean the baby slow and cut out a feeding and eventually your body will stop making milk. good luck i'll be doing that soon.

it took me 4 days to quit hurting, I quit breastfeeding my baby at 6 weeks, she is now 6 months old and I still have milk!

to mom 247, YES actually cabbage leaves DO work only if they are ice cold though...I wouldnt say it helped dry me up but it numbed the pain for a while

Ok well I only pumped for my daughter for I think 3 months and she is 2 now and I still can produce milk. I am now currently 31weeks pregnant and have full milk. Some women will dry their milk supply and some will not. Talk to your doc and see what they suggest

I nursed 3 of my children. My son nursed for 1 year, my oldest daughter for 13 1/2 months and my youngest for 15 1/2 months. My youngest is now 20 months old and I still have milk. I never lost the milk between my children either. When my daughters were born, I had milk there already.

Your doctor can give you a pill to take that will dry up your milk!

Hi,i breastfeed all three of my sons and when you decide that you don't want to breastfeed anymore it takes at least 2 weeks and then your milk usually will dry up.This means you shouldn't touch your breast(No Pumping,No Breastfeeding)it can be extremly painful but hang in there,it will disappear. Also if you should develop mastitis,do the recomendations for it to make it go away. But remember to not Pump or Breastfeed to take the pain away. That's what i did and the breastmilk went away.Hope this was helpful to you!LOL
