Not sure if this is the right forum but I breastfeed my 4 month ago and he is not sleeping more than 2 hours at a time at night. He was sleeping 5 hours about 3 weeks ago and he has slowly decreased that amount. The past few nights he has woken up after just an hour of sleep usually around 3 am. He seems absolutely starving every time this happens. Then in the morning around 9-10am he does not want to eat at all. Any ideas?

if u do not give your son a bottle then don't start now. it is probably just a growth spurt. my little one is almost 8 months and still doesn't sleep all through the night. every baby is different. also it might be the starting of teething. when my little one is about to cut a tooth he wakes up every 1 or 2. i think he mostly wants to nurse then cause it is comforting(sp?). there are hormones and other things in your breastmilk that make your baby feel good. anyways just stick with it, you are giving your baby the best thing that you can. and congratulations for making it this far!!!
sorry about the spelling its been a long day!!

I am going through the same exact thing with my 3 month old. I am wondering if she is cutting a tooth cuz she is drooling an awful lot. Or maybe a growth spurt is what i was thinking also. She was sleeping from like midnight till 5 am or so and now she's going to bed around midnight and waking up around 3 and then again at 5 or 6. I'm glad I'm not the only one going through this! And I have 3 other kids at home!!!

I am beginning to think this is a common thing among 3-4 month olds! More and more mom's I talk to say the same thing. My 4 month old was seelping throuhg the night at 5 weeks...until about a month ago, now she is up once sometimes twice a night for feeding! I am not exactly sure why this happens, but it is comforting to know that it happens to a lot of babies this age!
