i think the reason they say wait 4 weeks (i actually thought it was 6 weeks), is while they're still learning to breastfeed you don't want to confuse them. If you give them a bottle or even a sootherin the first 4 or 6 weeks, it could cause problems with them being able to latch on properly to your breast. I don't think that's a guarantee, but better to be safe than sorry. Just tell your mom to suck it up,lol... and she'll be able to feed your daughter eventually just not right away, cause you'd rather not cause any potential complications....you'd like for it to go as smoothly as you can...this is your baby and you make the decisions for what's best for your child, not what your mother wants. she'll get her turn..... ↑ |
i only disagree with bmes on one this, she won't get her turn she has HAD her turn. she got to feed you and your sister. it is now your turn to be a mother and you are the boss. there are many other things she can do to bond with baby. maybe let her be the first to feed baby solids when the time comes (not until 6 months). or letting her be the first to watch baby when you and your hubby/bf go out for the first time. ↑ |
on one thing, not this. sorry i forget to proof read before i hit submit ALOT!! ↑ |
