So if any of you have read my previous posts, you know I am overweight. I know people who are as far along as me usually feel BH contractions, but I cant say that i've felt any at all. I am wondering if it has anything to do with my being overweight. People describe them to me as "your stomach tightening". Well i've still got a good amount of jelly-belly going on above baby so I really doubt my stomach will be doing ANY tightening. What other things do you feel with BH, and even real contractions. I'm sure I am probably having BH, and just not feeling them (or dont know what it is) And im afraid when I do start having real contractions, I wont really feel them until they are more strong. Anyone have any thoughts?

i dont think its your actual "stomach" tightening. its like inside tightening, like when you orgasm how your stomach and hooha contract, its kind of like that. i havent really felt my BH, only a couple times and that one time hel lthe doctor even thought i was in labor. i also worry about the same thing, the whole not feeling them til til too late.

Liz- I had very few braxton hicks, (actually I never even dialated past a 1cm with either of my children) Anyway when I had BH it felt like cramps in your uterus/stomach area. And I had this little accident one time with some pineapple juice and trust me you will feel the contractions. Try not to worry sweetie. No matter the size of your body it will know what is going on! :-)

how to describe it, it kind of feels like bad period cramps, or you know those severe diarrhea cramps, those. thats what i was told, the ones that make you want to curl into a damn ball and cry, yeh those ones. im sure we all know that feeling.

oh yeah..i got some extra weight on me too from my last baby, but i don't think it has to do with your weight. it's more like the insides tightening rather than your actual belly. Also, some people who experience braxton hicks, hardly feel anything at all whether they're overweight or not. lots of people say they're painless. Mine on the other hand were more painful than the real thing. So i don't really think it has anything to do with weight.

for me it feels like the baby is pushing out really hard aganist one part of my uterus. The main difference between BH and the real thing is tht the real ones get worse and don't stop :)

See I am just not sure if I will be able to tell the difference. I get cramps in my stomach a lot but it's normal for me. I think prenatal vitamins really messed me up in the beggining. Every time I eat I get really bad cramps in my stomach. Or maybe it's not just regular stomach cramps, but actually BH contractions. Thats what I am afraid I wont be able to tell the difference between. I also have had a hard time with diarrhea in pregnancy too, which also causes cramps in my stomach. So I am basicly getting cramps in my stomach off and on all day long. I just hope the contractions feel different than the cramps somehow
