hypospadias - his pee doesn't come out at the end (in very non-technical terms) so they are making a new hole for him

Well thanks again all for your thoughts. Wyatt's back home now after some excitement and exhaustion. I never realized how painful it must be for parents to sit and wait for their child to get out of surgery. It has given me a new perspective for my job. We waited for 3 hours (not 1 - 1.5 hours like we were told) for Wyatt to get to the recovery room. After an hour stay there and some pain meds, he went back to Ambulatory Care to be discharged, but his peter kept bleeding because of a hematoma at the surgery site. Then his oxygen sats dropped into the 80s with the occasional low 90s...for about two hours before the docs would do anything. Xray showed some atelectasis but that seems to have cleared with all the crying and movement during the xray...so he is home and asleep in his crib. Exhausted but happy, I am ready for a nap myself!

I'm glad everything went okay. My friend's son had to have that same surgery and he's totally fine now:)
