I'm wondering how would you guys describe braxton hicks??? I'm now 36 weeks and even though I have experienced slight tightening pains round my sides, stomach and lower back I'm not sure if they're braxton hicks.
Also do al pregnant women get them or is it just a case of if you get them you get them and if you don't you don't???

Hey there. well one thing about braxton hicks is that they are not regular. when you have contractions they come in timed sequences. i dont think that i all pregnant women get them but i did with my first and they kinda just felt like menstrual cramps. also if you can lay down or even just change positions and they go away, they are probably braxton hick, but if they are continual no matter what you do i would start timing them and then go to your delivery place. hope this helps. let me know.

I'm also 36 weeks pregnant and have braxton hicks all the time, and I didn't have one braxton hicks with my first child. To me they feel like tightening and hardening of the uterus just like you explained yours feel.

My braxton hicks started the end of Sept. and they felt strong. However, I also had an UTI which I was told brings on contractions. Since then I have had them off and on on a regular weekly basis. I don't remember having them before until I was approximately two weeks prior to my other children's births.

Hey there!!! Congratulations. when I was pregnant with my first baby I got Braxton and hicks all the time. they were just a regular tightening and releasing of the muscles in my stomach. Mine never hurt but apparently sometimes they do. just enjoy every experience you have. your body is just preparing to have your baby. Good luck.

"When i was pregnant with my son I bent down to plug the cell phone to the charger and couldn't get back up because of the pain and i just laid there in the floor and it hurt to lift my leg to get into the car to go the hospital too! LOL. And they were only braxton hicks i was like "i guess labor hurts worse" but it really didn't.
