I am not to concerned if my baby is breech I know that I am blessed to live in a day and age when C sections are relativily safe more so than they used to be and if it ends up being best for me and my baby that is what counts. However for those who have allready had babies at what week are they supposed to turn or be turned head down , is it like week 30 or something were it becomes a concern if they are not ? I am 23 weeks pregnant and had my first US the week before the tech told me the baby was side to side which is not usually were babies are but just were he/she was comfortable right know. However he has been kicking me on the right side since the moment i first felt flutters at week 15 and continues to do so , maybe its instinct or something , I wonder if he doesn't start to move by a certain time if i have a greater chance of a breech baby?

Baby's can turn themselves throughout the entire pregnancy. Though it seems bizarre to me that there would be room for them to do so, they've even been known to turn right at the last moment. If you're twenty three weeks I wouldn't worry about it just yet. I happen to know that my baby was almost constantly head down until about twenty four weeks or so, and then decided he wanted to experience the rest of the womb. By the time I went back in for an ultrasound at twenty nine weeks, he was head down again. If your doctors are concerned with this, which they probably won't be for another couple of months, they will begin to evaluate his position more often towards the end of your pregnancy. Til then, try not to worry. Good luck :)

My doctor is giving my little guy until week 36 to turn himself over, which is next week. He's in a complete breech and constantly shifts his feet into my hips and bladder. Not very cozy. Most doctors really start to watch breech babies around 32-36 weeks to see if they may turn, but some will keep parents guessing until the very last few days. They can do something called an External Version, which is where they can "turn" the baby while still in the womb, although sometimes it doesn't work. I've decided to have a cesarean done anyway since he's breech and I honestly don't think he'll turn. My doctor did recommend playing music softly (via headphones) below your belly button to perhaps make a curious baby turn their head toward the music. You could give it a shot.
