Yeah I did some rwsearch online and it did say it is due to the streching of the ligaments makeing the womb more stable..and that this cramping affect is more pronounced in the first and early stages of a pregnancy

Does it say how long these cramps are supposed to stay with us?

Hey ladies!! I am 37 weeks pregnant and I had the same thing. i think I had it all the way up to like 20 weeks. I swear I spent the first half of my pregnancy in the bathroom to make sure I wasnt bleeding. It really felt like I was starting my period. But I never did!! I wouldnt worry to much about it. But I did mention it to my doctor. I just wanted him to know everything I was going through so he could reasure me everything was ok.

So are you hoping for a boy or a girl?

does the cramping go into your groin area?

I have no set on what I really want a boy I think would be easier to handle because if the girl came out to grow up and act any way that I did I am in for the looong haul of hell....LOL

I am 35 weeks and 5 days. Don't count on the ligament stretching ending after the second semester.

When I was 14 weeks I was stricken with that horrible pain. It was SO BAD that I went to the emergency room (of the nearest hospital) because my doctor hadn't warned me about the stretching. Well, I was told to take Tylenol 500 (but I chose not to), but I did start paying more attention to how I move, twist, and turn while getting out of bed or while changing positions during the night.

To make a long story short the very painful experience went away that same week, but oh my goodness it returned at 27 weeks. Now, it's here almost daily, and I presently have no choice except to turn to the Tylenol (every 6 hours). That pain is so bad when around your number of weeks that it almost brings tears to one's eyes. However, even though my baby currently stretches on a regular basis the pain isn't as severe because I guess she has stretched nearly as much as she can.

It does go away, but don't count on it staying away. Right now, I get a mixture of stretching along with her funny movements and regular kicks. Her kicks make me literally laugh out loud. I just love the kicks, but not the stretching. It's all well worth it though :)

P.S. One other thing that will help is to sleep on your LEFT side (especially once you start to show). The left side allows the baby to breathe better, and provides good circulation. You're going to have to remember the left side throughout the rest of your pregnancy. In the middle of the night I sometimes catch myself turning over to the right, but I immediately shift to the left because I want to ensure that my angel can breathe well.
