Name: Lola [ Original Post ] So last night when one of my hamsters was bootin' it around the place for a while...I noticed his nails had gotten really long. I looked closer and saw that one was hanging off and there was some blood!! I started gettin' freaked out so I checked the other hamsters. He's a Campbell and the only other hamster that had long nails was the other Campbell. I bought two Campbell's because I wanted them to mate. A boy and a girl. So...I looked it up online...as you do...and it gave conflicting information on what to do. Waited 'til today to ring the pet store and the woman told me to bring them in to have their nails clipped. So I woke them up and brought them in... He didn't clip them, just told me to put a rock in and their nails will fall off and then stay filed from now on. Painful! Also...turns out Pippin is a boy and NOT a girl like they originally told us! I wouldn't have bought the yoke if I knew it was a male! OMG! And the worst part is...I've tried to make them mate...which can only mean..I've raised little homosexuals!! Eurgh! ↓

lol you don't want them to mate, females are so mean, and they sometimes eat their babies, and then you have to deal with them going into heat, and they get periods, and they smell sooo nasty... btw you can just clip their nails with a nail clipper, just make sure you dont cut them too short ↑

I would have taken him back to the pet store that I purchased both hamster from because they sold you want you were made to believe was 1 female and 1 male. Unless of course it doesn't really matter anymore. ↑

Lol @ hamster pride!! I'm too afraid to cut their nails because they're so small and he advised me not to anyways. But I used to have a gay cat when I was younger. We had a male and female...and the female never EVER got pregnant... They used to do everything together! LOL. Shopping 'n all I bet! :P ↑
