Lol I know nothing on this topic so all help would be appreciated

I want to plant flowers again this year but last year we spent over $250 in flowers that just ended up dying and are not returning this year, some even died in the summer even with all the water and care we tried to give them. Anyhow I know that bulbs are the ones that come back anually right? Anyhow when do you plant those? is it to late? What survives best in hot direct sunlight? I also noticed that the nursery is selling roots already started is it ok to plant those now.....I would ask someone at the nursery but I didn't wanna seem like a dumbass and have them try to sell me all the crap I didn't need........also we tried planting those small x-mas tree like bushes and they have all died.....and I have no idea why .....what could I be doing wrong....what is an easy flower to care for, do rose bushes die easily and can they withstand heat?

Please if anyone knows any answers to my questions....or a good website that can actually help because ive tried looking some of this stuff up online but it wasn't very helpful. ?

i do know that when you go to buy flowers annuals are the ones that die and dont come back and perinnieals (SP?) are the ones that should come back each year

Ok.... My step mom had a green thumb and I think I got some of that from her.. so here is some advise from my experience.
The only ones I do that wont come back and you have to plant every year is Geraniums, they are pretty, and cheap...and I do them in a flower box, but can be planted anywhere, in shade or sun and pretty much any amount of water... they wont die until winter... also flower baskets are nice to hang and throw away in fall, again.. they dont cost much and last alongtime.... and then for flowers that come back... I would do rose bushes... I had awesome luck with those! they need to be planted in full sun... and this time of year (I'd wait until may though) and they never die and barely need watered... they are so pretty and grow like crazy!!! I wouldn't bother with any kind of seeds, cause they just dont end up growing.. thats why you pay more for the plant.... unless you try growing seeds in the winter inside and when they start growing you can plant them. anyways... I hope that can get you started.... even green plants (with no flowers) looks good , comes back every year and adds to your garden.
