I had them often b/f I was pregnant and then they were very bad during the middle to end of my first trimester an dthen they got a bit better. I have then still mow that I have kendra, but not as often as I did before I was pregnant. The dr is going to tell you to drink lots of water because dehydration can bring them on, then try massage, relaxation methods, cool compress on forehead, eyes or back of neck, avoid too mcuh caffine, or if you usually have alot decrease slowly so you don't withdrawl too bad, stand and stretch a couple of times each hour. when all of that fails and it will then take two tylenol. Advil or alive are not reccomended, but not has harmful if taken in 1st and second trimester, but should never be taken at the end of 2nd trimester or in 3rd trimester. Good luck I hope they get better for ya

I had them a lot in the end of the first/ beginning of the second. I probably had them daily for up to a month. I have weeks now where they come and go. Usually about 3 days, then they go away. It will lessen as your hormones even out a bit, and you get used to all the changes. All I can say is don't be afraid to take a couple of Tylenol. It will be your savior on some days!

I used to have bad headaches before I was pregnant. I have been drinking a lot of water with a splash of cordial in it today (peeing like a mule). I gave up Coca-Cola on New Years Day (5mths before falling pregnant), and I don't drink tea or coffee or any other sort of caffeine drinks. My withdrawal at New Years was terrible so I am glad I didn't decide to quit when I fell pregnant, I quit well before (I was a mega coca-cola addict).

I have taken Panadol (I live in Australia), and it has done nothing. I used to take prescription tablets or my headaches in the past, which is a no no now that I am pregnant.

Don't worry FatallyYours I feel brain dead too.

I think it could be stress. I am not feeling well so I didn't go into work and with this headache I wouldn't have been able to work anyway. I am going through a phase where I feel I wont be able to give birth (ha, like I have a choice) and also worried about how I will cope as a mother. I also want to feel my baby kick or do something, I worry about the poor little tiger.

Damn headaches.

Yeah I got them on and off. Remember you have increase blood flow now, your heart is beating twice as hard to support the developing baby. This can lead to more headaches. They become more common as pregnancy progresses. Some women don't suffer them so much. I have had them quite a bit. Take paracetamol, and you're right to see your doc. He might want to check your urine for protein.

Another good trick to try is turn the shower on as hot as it goes and shut the bathroom door. Stand in the bathroom for about 5 minutes, then turn off the shower and leave the bathroom. The switch from hot air to cold air conditioning causes the blood vessels to shrink. It really helps!
