7 y
_ = _
8 56
this might look better ↑ |
Its fraction and you need to find the answer to y. :)
The first one is 7 over 8 is equal to y over 56.
I cant seem to get it to come up to where it looks right on the post.
Now i feel really retarded. ↑ |
hahahaha.......roflmao!!!!!!!!! I am sooooooooooo the wrong person to ask........math is not my thing......lol good f'ing luck on that one! ↑ |

lol I feel like such a loser cause she is sitting her looking at me like "well dont you know the answer. lol
Im glad Im not the only one :) Makes me feel alittle better ↑ |
haha...........lol my husband is a math wiz....... hes took trig. and some other crap i dont even know...see i dont even know the names, lol ↑ |
Im thinking it is something to do with cross multiplying but I dont want to do it an be wrong. ↑ |
The problem is 7/8 = y/56 solve for y right?
I am coming in late but is the answer 49/56 ↑ |
multiply each side by 56. this would cancel out on the one side leaving only the y. so you would just need to multiply 7/8 by 56/1 which would be 392/8 or 49. ↑ |
I will work with her on it tomorrow. We have a whole page of them Yeppie.
Why is it the parents end up doing most of the kids homework? My niece has ADHD so there literally cant be anything making any noise in the house or she gets distracted and I get frustrated saying Sheena lets finish this, Sheena come on lets get this done. But we have about 30ish pages for this weekend so that she can bring her grades up or she'll end up in summer school. Keep an eye out for me cause there might be more questions. :( ↑ |
what you should actually do is simplify first. in other words multiply the whole thing by 8. then you will have 7=y/7 so then you multiply by 7 and get y=49 this is a better way to do it for a 4th grader because it is simplier. :) ↑ |
I did it as 8 divided by 56 = 7 sooo 7*7 = 49
If you ever need help with math let me know. Unfortunatley it is one of my strong suits. ↑ |
