My friend had told me it's 2 weeks after ur period. On some sites it asks how long ur cycle is, but mine is not regular. Sometimes it's 28 days and sometimes 32 or in-between. With this last pregnancy, i was just having sex everyday, but i heard that's bad. Is it true? I just want to know for future reference so i dont have to have sex everyday to get pregnant.

It's actually easier to pin point when you are suppose to ovulate if your regular. If your irregular the main cause is usually because you are not ovulating the same time each month. So yes your friend would be right if you had a 28 cycle all time which you do not.

As you are approaching ovulation you will notice a difference in discharge. The closer to when your going to ovulate the clearer you discharge will be. You most fertile time is when you discharge is clear (egg-white as they call it). Another good way to found out when your ovulating to to chart. This will help you get a better understanding of your period as well as ovulation. Usually when taking your tempature there will be slight drop the day before ovulation before it raises.

Hope this helps out a little.

If you have the money I would invest in ovulation prediction tests. You can start taking them every day about a week after your period, and take one every day until you see that you've ovulated. Having sex every other day is plenty also, because sperm live several days in the reproductive tract and there will always be some there if you do it that way. If you do decide to take the tests I found a site where they are super super cheap - and remember not to take them first thing in the morning. Take them mid-day when the reading is most accurate.

If you choose to do the ovulation predictor test. I would recommend ordering the strips online rather then going to purchase them in the store. They work the same way except unlike the test in the store where you used them exactly like a HPT (minus the fact that you don't use morning urine with these test) the strips you have to collect the urine in a container, then you'll dip the stip into the urine for 4 to 5 second.

thanks. i was asking because u cant get pregnant ,for example, on a day u dont ovulate, right? since i had a miscarriage, im not supposed to get pregnant for 3 months, so i wanted to know so maybe i could avoid sex around my ovulation date. do those strips tell u even when u have an irregular period? do they say when ur gonna ovulate or when u already ovulated? im just afraid if i get pregnant in less than 3 mos. ill have another miscarriage cause it's too soon.

to Vane20, my friend had an ectopic pregnancy she had surgery and 3 weeks later she was prego again. Her doc told her to wait 3 months but she didn't need to even with one tube.
Good luck!
I know there is also allot of physical signs too, got to www.babycenter.com .

I agree to purchase one of the ovulation predictors or to consult your doctor about this one. He or she may be able to give you a more clear answer. If you're really not wanting to get pregnant for the 3 months you're supposed to wait, use some kind of non-hormonal form of birth control and just wait out the 3 months.

You said your periods are irregular. From what I just read, it looks like yours are only about a week off at most, which isn't medically what they would consider to be "irregular". Skipping a month or two, then having two periods in one months... that's irregular, and was my case with my first pregnancy. With this one, I was on Depo-Provera (the shot) and hadn't had a period in over 2 years... then Bingo... pregnant.

My advice to you is to invest in one of those ovulation predictors, they're not cheap, but I believe them to be worth it. That, and have a pow-wow with your doctor to try and pinpoint the perfect time to get pregnant... and relax.

thanks kristy
if it were up to me, i would try to get preg. again right away, but the dr. told me to wait 3 months. it seems like an eternity. im dealing with the m/c a little better, thank you. i just can look at my pregnant friend or neighbor cause we were all the same # of wks. preg. when i see them i cry, so i guess i need to stay away from them a little bit.
