I had the HIPPA meeting thing. I think that it went really good. The cops who were at the station ended up stating that I had not expressed "extensive" knowledge of the incident and that in their oponion it is possiable that I obtained the information from over hearing the on duty staff discussing the run. Thankfully I got to go after them so I pretty much said what I had been saying. That I went to the station as back up support if needed and the crew was in the bay talking about it and I was inside of the medic quarters and heard them then directly after that the cops came and put everyone in one room including me and that is when I learned the rest of the confidential info. The other firefighter said the same thing. Honestly it is not too far off from what really happened. Sure my friend called me to talk and I didn't respond to my pager going off, but while he would have told me everything I did hear most of the details after the cops came because they were asking the questions.
So the chief said that we prob won't be fined and for sure none of the other firefighters or myself will get into any sort of trouble. SO it looks like it will all work out.
On another note I went swimming friday night after the meeting where my mom works at the pool. The little boys mom down there chillen and laughing with her friend and two other kids. I know that she has to keep it together for the kids, but it was really shocked to see her seem so light hearted in such a short time after her little boy was killed. ↓
