| Thanks everyone! My labour was pretty fast this time. Between 3 and 4:30am I had like 4 contractions, but didn't think it was really labour, so I kept going back to sleep in between. But then from 4:30-5am they were suddenly a few min. apart. So I had a shower and called my mom at 5am. She was coming to the hospital with me and hubby, and my stepdad was coming to stay with my daughter. They live an hour away, but I told them not to hurry b/c I thought I still had tons of time. Well, by 6 o'clock when they arrived I was panicking b/c the contractions were 2 minutes apart! And we live 15 min away from the hospital. So we got to the hospital just before 6:30 and was checked. I was almost 8cm diatlated already! The doc asked if I wanted my water broke, which I did. I started pushing at about 8:00am and he was born at 9:18. Even though he was so big, overall the labour and delivery went better than with my first. They had trouble delivering the shoulders for a few min and I tore a fair bit, but that's it. I think the best part was when they put him on my chest right away once he came out. I never had that with my first b/c she was in distress and whisked away. It was a much more relaxed birth scene, if you know what I mean. Oh, and something else that was cool, when just his head was out part way they asked me if I wanted to feel it! It was really weird, but neat. ↑ |
