hi, i am wild_thing_19's mum she has asked me update you about the current situation:
from about 9 am today (8th february 2007) Lorna had been getting painfull cramps lasting only a few minute. She thought that they were just bracton hicks seeing as they were about 1 and a half apart she just carried on as usuall.then at around 15:55 pm she got another cramp. That she said was 10 times stronger. She got them every half hour but she walked them off and then at at 16:45pm she called the doctor who told her to get to the hospital immediatlly. Lorna called me and i got to her house at about 17:25 pm i rushed her to the hospital. on the way she started getting contrations every 10 minutes and her water broke on the way. we got to the hospital at 18:05 where she was taken straight into a room and examined she was 3 and half cm dilated and the doctor took the babies heartbeat which was just 70 bpm and they took lornas blood pressure which is dangerously low. both lorna and baby are in a critical condition.lorna has an infection in her uterus, which the doctor hadnt noticed before. the doctors have told us that they need to deliver the baby by c-section within the next hour so they are now prepping her for the c-section, thee is a chance that lorna could need a hysterectomy but we are praying she wont need one. Lorna is only 23 weeks 5 days pregnant so there is only a 17% chance that ronan will survive. lorna is extremly distressed and in shock but she should be ok.the hospital has an internet cafe so the second anything happens i will let you know. please keep lorna and baby Ronan in your prayers thank you lornas mum ↓

| well at 19:07 Lorna was taken to Theatre Ronan was born at 19:20 pm. they took him straight down to SCUBU (SPECIAL CARE BABY UNIT) The infectin is worse then they thought so they are now doing an emergency hysterectomy i have managed to see ronan briefly so i took a photo which i have uploaded to her piczo should you want to see it.well Ronan is on a ventilator because he cant breath on his own he is very weak and his chances are very slim he wieghs just 1lb 6oz. i was allowed to touch him biefly but he seemed to recoil in pain he so i left him be. the doctors and nurses are still tending to him so i thought would let you know. http://www.wild-thing-19.piczo.com/?cr=7&rfm=y ↑ |

| thank-you all for your kind words lorna is still having the hysterectomy and ronan is still being tended to so i am stuck here in the cafe. i just hope that lorna will be ok both physically and mentally not only does she have to come too terms with ronans premature birth but now she has to deal with the fact she has had a hysterectomy. ↑ |

| well i have been informed that ronan has been fed and sudated for the night and that lorna will be ready to see him soon she has come out of theatre and is just waiting to come around shes on a drip and has had a blood transfusion so far thats alli know hope thats ok i will keep posted x ↑ |

Courtney, I usually keep my mouth shut, but if you are really that uneducated about "speed birthing" then ask it in a new post. Quite frankly I felt it was completely rude. I stopped coming on here so often mostly because of you. You are completely selfish! I am currently ttc, and you do nothing but make me feel as though I am not good enough to post here because I'm not yet pregnant. I'm sorry that you are still stuck in Turkey, but Lorna is 19 years old, just had a child at 23 weeks, and had to have a hystorectomy! Have a little compasion for her and her family, please.

| you guys are over reacting. First let me say that I feel very sorry for this girl and what she is going through, on the other hand coart and I were just wondering how in 9min from the time that the baby was born (28min form the last post that they were taking her up in 5min) there was time for the dr to deliver the baby, come and talk to this girls mom and tell her about the additional procedure and the staff weigh and to clean and intibate the baby and for the mom to go and take a pic upload and and post it. It just seemed a bit fishey thats all. I don't know this girl or her mom and I wish their family the best of luck, but honestly if I found the time fishey and this firl has only been here a short time I can't inagine leaving my child to post an update to internet people she just met. Forgive us for being skeptical there are lots of crazy people and fakes out there and we have become defensive. ↑ |
