Sooooo, I'll be buying Christian a toddler bed. He's 16 months. And I think he's ready for one. Just because he's now climbing on my bed and laying down and climbing on the coach and laying down. So I think that's a sign he wants to climb on his own bed, lol.

When did you make the switch to a toddler bed?

How did you know your kid was ready?

Di you experience the getting out of bed and running around because they are not "locked" in by bars?, lol.

Sadie was in a toddler bed since she was 13 months old only because she is a climber. It took her a long time to sleep in it all night but now she does. I put the bed in her room when she turned 10 months and about 11 months she was curious and wanted to take naps in it. We didnt fullly take out the crib till like 2 months ago just in case it didnt work but now she sleeps all night in it unless Alex is snorring really loud then she gets out and comes and sleeps with us but otherwise its all night in her bed. If he is showing interest get one and put it in his room see how he acts and let him get famillar with it, explore it and take naps in it. when Christian starts pointing at the bed or saying bed start putting him to sleep in the bed and any time he gets out you have to be consistant to put him right back, I remember the first couple of weeks I was putting Sadie back in her bed like 20 times before she got tired and just fell asleep BUT make sure they can sleep in the bed before you take the crib out for good.

good luck.

I say don't waste your money on a toddler bed, just buy a twin!

Our Crib converts into a Toddler bed, but Its a little high for him to climb back into it so prob by next month we will start trying, He just figured how to get on the couch and that a little shorter than the crib!
Tyler is 16 months

OMG Wyatt is still in his crib and he's 2years and 4 months! We tried once to move him but it was the never-ending get out of bed scenario and we just gave up! He seems quite comfy in it and never tries to climb out so we figure it's still safe...altho I do need it for Sam now, so he's going into his new toddler bed this evening and we will try to better about staying on track for the weekend and just putting him back to bed every time he climbs out....wish us luck!!
