My hubby and I are trying to get pregnant with our first child. A couple of weeks ago I had some spotting (a week and a half before my period was due) that was very light and was sporatic. I should have had a period starting anywhere between the 17th and 20th. I still haven't had one, and don't feel like I will, but the hpt's are still showing negative. I have been having cramping on and off since the spotting a lots of headaches (which is very unusual for me). I really think I am pregnant, but I am still getting neg results. Any advice? Thanks!

Well, I'm sure everyone else will say the same... but if you don't want to wait you could get a blood test done. A quantitative test is best - if your physician will give you one.

Good luck! Hopefully you are!

I just did the math and you'd be about 5 weeks now - some people can't tell that early. I know that at 4 weeks 1 day I couldn't tell and a blood test was just barely coming back positive.

Thanks for the advice. Being Christmas and all I don't think I can get in to the docs office for a blood test for about a week. Should I keep trying the hpt's?

I would keep trying the hpt test, I was the opposite, the blood test keep coming back with low numbers, but the first hpt came back postive.
I took my test 9 days after I conceived , and it came back pos

I would definately keep trying with HPTs. Could be that your HcG levels are just not high enough for the test to detect it. With my son the test came back positive on the first day of my missed period. With my currantly pregnancy I didn't get a positive test until 8 days after my period was due.
