I just heard about the tornados in Alabama on the news this morning. If I remember correctly, you live in Alabama dont' you? Is everything okay where you are? Are you and your family and your house safe? I heard some schools got hit as well, so I was just worried about you!

I'm fairly positive that it was Tylersmom that lived there, but if I'm wrong and it was somebody else or if multiple people live there then this message is directed at you. I just want to make sure that everybody is safe!!!

Yes.. it got pretty bad here. A school was hit and some students died. We were really lucky though and only had a little flooding and stuff blown away. It is sooo sad to watch TV right now though seeing all the damage. THANK YOU sooo much for thinking of me!

Karen- I'm so glad your family is okay. That is really sad about the students. I've only seen bits and pieces of the news, but I will certainly keep your community in my thoughts today:)

Oh, I'm so glad you're okay. It's just been a morning of tragedies. With all the tornados and then the bus carrying the baseball team that crashed. I went to ONU, which is very very close to Bluffton college where that baseball team was from. I used to know some of the players on the team, but they graduated last year when I did. I just feel so bad for all those families that woke up this morning to such bad news.

I also live in alabama my kids school let out at 12:30 i just don't understand why them kids were still at school

Was the school still in session? Or were they just keeping kids that had no place to go? Like their parents couldn't get off work or something like that. Because if they were still in session and didn't let out then that is just ridiculous.

I just read online that they were all lined up in the hallway getting ready to dismiss out of the school when it hit. Apparently they had just heard the sirens and let the kids know that they were closing. They were under the impression that they had about 2 hours until the storm was going to reach its peak. It said they were all completely blindsighted when things started flying all over the place because it wasn't supposed to be that bad yet. They just told the students to get down and hoped for the best.

i live in northeast alabama and i think the place it hit is down south so i'm not sure what the weather people was saying down there i just know up here they let out early because back in august we had a torando hit in the county and it came out of no where's and about three yours ago we had one that hit in my town and it also was here in mintutes so we all jump every time they so torando

That's just crazy. The article I read is making it out as though they tried to get the kids home as soon as they heard about the storm (about 11am), but things just hit so fast that they didn't have time.

Thank goodness your kids got home safe and everybody is okay.
