So I was taking my hubby to work saturday morning and like literally 1 mile from his work, the van we're borrowing from my parents starts to sputter and shake and then dies in the middle of the road. We push it to the side of the road and call my dad to come and pick us up so my husband can get to work and we can figure something out.

It looks like the piston finally blew on thing. I mean, I can't be too angry because it was only a matter of time before that thing gave out. It was a 1992 Toyota Previa and it had over 300,000 miles on it!!! It just kind of sucks because now we're completely out of a vehicle because we can't afford to get the van fixed (neither can my parents) and we can't afford to get our own vehicle.

I don't know what to do. I've been so stressed out over it that I've been having contractions all day (I'm almost 27 weeks). Please keep us in your prayers that something will work out and the contractions will stop. I'd really appreciate it.

Hannah, Talk to the repair people and see if they will take payments for the repair. My mom goes to a regular mechanic and he will always take payments, she will post date however many checks it will take for the payments and gives them all to him, that way he already has the payment at that time.

I would defiantly not get it fixed any money you put into it is not worth it , do you have decent credit , look at getting a used car , for 5 grand or under you could get something decent from a private seller add in the paper etc. My first car back in highschool/college was an 86 chevy celbrity it was about ten years old at the time or so , anyways I found it in the paper perfect condition inside in out simply purred wasn't a lexus but it was a great car they had orginally bought it off the lot it only had 65,000 miles on it I payed 1700 for it and it gave me five solid years no problems other than mantience you now a spark plug change a new filter the usual it wasn't till it hit 200,000 miles that it began to really show its age in year six I finally sold it , and i actually got two hundred bucks for it. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Sally - Haha no both mine and my husbands credit is BAD BAD BAD....but we're working on getting it fixed, it just won't be fixed enough to get a car by the time the baby is born :0( I would love to do a private seller thing but they want the money up front and don't take payments which is what we would have to do because we can't come up with that much money at once. Ugh....things just flat out suck right now lol.
