hey guys, well here I am at home. I was discharged at 230pm due to everything going on. well heres the start to finish in one story.
my water broke at about 1230pm wednesday afternoon, i coughed! LOL.. anyways i got to the hospital at 130ish and was only 1.5cm. at about 8pm that night they started me on a very slow pitocin drip, didnt do much of anything. they bumped it up and i started dialating and contracting hardcore. they gave me some pain meds at about 2am, and i was out cold. I woke up for my epidural, screaming in pain drugged up, i was about 6cm at about 6am. anyways, every couple of hours i kept dialating a good half to a full centimeter. well my epidural kept wearing off, even though the machine still ahd it pumping into me, i went through 3 bags of epidural and the guy kept coming down putting more into my iv b.c it wasnt doing anything. it would work for an hour then go away. well i woke up again at about 2pm epidural was wearing off, i was feeling everything and my body was pushing on its own. well my doctor had to do an em. cs. on the lady next door and told me, stop psuhing.. well at about 430 i started pushing, no epidural no pain meds and after 29 hours of labor... at 529pm april 19th my beautiful baby boy braden was born. he weighed exactly 8 lbs and was 20.5 inches. He has the biggest cheeks little butt chin like scott, little button nose, these cute pouty lips, and these beautiful eyes. hes just perfect. i was blessed with not having an ugly kid ( had to throw that out there lol karen and jill)
okay now the update on him b.c well screw me i dont care at this point. this morning he came in for his feeding and before i could even do anything he started puking up chunks of bile, not spit up but actual throw up. he still hadnt pee'd yet, or passed his poop. well the nurses grabbed him right away. started doing a bunch of tests and xrays. all tests came back normal, and the xrays showed his intestines were enlarged in an area. well i was only at a level 1 nursery so he had to be transferred out to the NICU level 3 nursery about 30 mins away. my doctor discharged me so i could go there after him. well i got to the hospital they had already run some tests and other xrays. did the upper gi. he passed his meconium and started peeing a little so that was a good sign his intestines werent obstructed. right now he is still in the hospital at the nicu, they are gonna monitor his feedings, to see if he continues to throw up. they think it may be something called malrotation where the intestines are twisted and thats causing him to throw up. but they wont know til they continue to monitor him. other than that he is perfectly healthy and beautiful.. hes been giving the nurses and doctors a run for their money. ripped out his first tube and iv, kicked a couple nurses lol .. oh yeh thats my baby boy LOL i sat at the nicu with him but my mom brought me home after a couple hours b.c i havent slept yet and am still in pain and with walking around everywhere today i need to be in bed.. orr on here talking to you. I havent talked to scott yet so he still has no idea whats going on. I cant help but break down and ball out my eyes especially looking at my two print out pics they took of him for me, i wish i could show yall but i cant hook up my cam to this computer i need scotts laptop. anyways im gonna freak out til i hear from scott, and then freak out some more til i have braden an dknow he is going to be alright. sorry if some of it makes no sene, im not all with it. i may be around

oh and i got ahold of scotts mom, his flight got delayed in NY so he isnt due to arrive til 1153 into tampa, and thats 2 hours from here his mom said she'd let him know everything and make him call right away
and i got off the phone with nicu they said his first feeding from earlier went well he hasnt thrown up at all, they are gonna start him on the next feeding soon. but regardless even if things go well they will still be keeping him all weekend. hopefully things stay good and little man helps himself out of there. ↑ |

Hey Coartney,
Just wanted to let you know that your precious little man will be in my thoughts and prayers. Stay positive, i know its hard. I do hope that he will be ok. He is in good hands at the hospital and its good they are checking every avenue.
I hope that he is home with you soon enough. You are going to be a wonderful mother to him.
