I was just wondering, when is it normal for your baby to start rolling over and holding its head up. Harper started to hold her head up for a few secs since she was born and now at 19 days, she can officially hold her head up for a long period of time. Also, she's been rolling over for a week now. It's so cute though, when we put her on her tummy she tries to crawl. My dr. said she's very strong...just wondering what y'alls experiences were.

I think after 2 weeks my baby was able to actually hold his head up. He started rolling over at 5weeks though

kristy every baby is different. Jeremiah could lift and trun his head from the moment he was born. As for rolling over I don't remember that milestone, because much like harper he did it very soon after birth so I just thought that it was normal and that all babies could do it. It is good that she is that strong. I didn't realize how fast Jeremiah did everything until I had the chance to be around more babies. I just thought that he was doing what every other kids was.

My son was the same way. From the moment he was born he was able to hold his head up not to long after that he was able to hold his head up when on his tummy. He was also able to roll himself over. He could only roll himself over from his stomach onto his back but not his back to his stomach until about a month or so later.

I always put jeremiah to sleep on his back because of the SIDS thing and when he would wate up to eat he would be on his back and turned toward the head of the bed. I talked to my dr and he said well if he can move himself that much then he will be able to wake him self up and not to worry about SIDS

Jill-

I was told the same thing by Ethan's peditrician. And although I was told this I actually would sleep for crap because I would jump up in the middle of the night thinking something terrible had happened.

Kristy Sophie was the same way but....she stopped rolling over for months! She started at 5 weeks, and then around 2 months she stopped - she was rolling tummy to back. Then around 3 months she did it again, but from back to tummy. The range of normal is extremely wide. I'm glad you guys are doing so well.

Thats extremely similar to my son...He had excellant head control from the day he was born and he started rolling over when he was two weeks old, from back to stomach, he is just now starting to do the army crawl though (he is 3 1/2 months)
