Some of you may remember me telling you a couple months ago that I got two positive home pregnancy tests followed by several negatives including a blood test from my family doctor that was also negative. Well I went to see my ob/gyn today because I still haven't had a period (last one March 2) and she did an exam and confirmed that I was infact not pregnant....which I figured....:-(. Anyways, I am borderline for polycystic ovarian syndrome which she had told me after doing blood work several months ago. I was put on meds to "induce" my period and said that I should hopefully start ovulating again, but I probably don't ovulate every month so it's going to be important to use the ovulation predictor kits so I know when I do because it's going to be harder for me to get pregnant again. She also wants to put me on clomid in a few months if I still havne't conceived. I really don't want to go on the clomid, but she said it's the best way to get me to ovulate regularly. There is also the chance of multiple births while taking that which freaks me out (she said 8-10% of women on it will have multiples, usually not more then twins). I had really bad preeclampsia with my first pregnancy and am at greater risk to get it again so it's would be high risk for one baby let alone mulitples. I'm just freaking out thining about all this and I'm not even taking it, it's just a possibiltiy.

I really don't know why I'm writing all this, I've just got so much anxiety right now I had to get some of it out.

did they let you know why your preg tests first came back positive? i've never heard of them being positive and then all of a sudden negative..

Jessi-my doctor told me that she has seen false positives happen (not very common), but she said I may have had a hormone surge which caused the tests to come out positive. I still don't really understand it, it got my hopes up for nothing.

sugarpie-polycistic ovarian syndrome is when small cysts form on the ovaries and causes hormonal imbalances which can cause infertitily or fertitlity problems.

It sucks! Did your doctor ever talk about putting you on clomid? I am probably going to avoid it and hope I can get pregnant on my own, but I might change my mind in a few months if I still haven't conceived.
