My son is 19 months now and I have started sitting him on the toilet and telling him to pee. He will do it and since I started giving him a piece of fruit bar, he always ask for it now when he goes. He will never do a #2 in the toilet though. He also will not tell me that he needs to go to the bathroom. I will have to take off his diaper and sit him down in order for him to pee. I know that it is probaly still to early to expect anything big but I will keep tyrying. Boys normally potty train later than girls.

I don't have any kids of my own... Yet, give me 4 weeks but I have helped my sister potty train all three of my nephews and we found that the best time to do it is when they can go all night without wetting their diapers. We didn't do this with the first one, my sister was a little rushed on doing it and it made it very complicating but on the last two we didn't do it untill they were into their 2's and could keep a dry diaper through the night. While the first one took about 2 months to potty trian the other two got it down within a couple day's, hope this helps. And don't worry about him not going number 2 right away, they always tend to try to put that off a lot longer then going pe

I think 16 months is to early imo as far as actually getting him to sit and do his business but introduce him to the concept and see how it goes. If you do decide to go ahead and do it, good luck!
