I personally don't think weight has anything to do with size. Kaden is 18lbs and he is in size 4s... He doesn't have a lot of room left in them... even thought they go up to 28 or 32... I can't remember.

I use both Pampers and Huggies. I use the Pampers Baby Dry and the Huggies Supremes... Gentle care or whatever they are. I just like the Pampers because they feel wet. I found the Huggies thicker and harder to tell how wet he was. I have found that he does leak out of the Pampers a little more and you do have to get used to the "baby dry" smell. Baby powderish.

well thats just a guesstimate, but he was 9 pounds at his 2 week appt, and he feels really heavy to me

Not if they are not too tight no him and they are containing everything still. I change the diapers when they get too tight around the leg or he pees out of them. Oh Kaden can also take the Huggies off of himself. Pampers are a little harder, but I don't think you need to worry about that for another 4 months or so lol then prepare for him to firehose his crib and be waving his diaper in the air...

Name: Double_K | Date: Jun 29th, 2007 2:11 PM
isn't that just the amount of diapers in the pack?

Name: Randi | Date: Jun 29th, 2007 2:12 PM
I thought it was the amount in the box...

and for your other questions:
Hell yeah, return those newborns and get a new size---I know wal-mart will let you---
I acutally use LUVS---I hated them with Kenzi, but we had a pack someone bought us for Kaden and used them and they work great for him and are soooo much cheaper---I've never had a leaky problem w/ them!
Kaden is 20ish (I find out how much he really weighs today at the doc!!:) ) pounds and in size 4

I found that Huggies really leaked form my foster daughter (2) but worked real well for my 5 yr old foster son,so I think it depends on the kid.

Like Randi said, I'm not sure what weight has to do with how well the diapers fit...but if you're following the weight guidelines, Newborns go up to 10 lbs, 1's go to 14. Sarah's 10 weeks and in 1's, and I still have a box of 152 that we'll use before she goes to 2's. I use both Pampers and Huggies -- I love the swaddlers, but I'm not sure about the baby drys...I know a few kids who were allergic to something in them, so they make me nervous. so once she outgrows swaddlers, she'll probably be a huggies supreme baby -- I like those better than the regular huggies.

You can definitely return the newborns for a different size! But I'd hang on to that pack of luvs -- you'll need it eventually. I already have diapers up thru size 3 from gifts and we'd occasionally pick up a pack if they were on sale.

The difference between jumbo, mega and super mega is the number of diapers, and that's in increasing order, but I don't know how many come in each of those.

lol the only reason why im getting rid of the luvs is because im only using either huggies or Pampers so i might as well return them for the other brands

were every ones kids out of newborns at 6 weeks???

I always used the pampers swaddlers and then the pampers cruisers. I didn't like huggies, seemed like they leaked more and didn't fit as well. I also didn't care for the pampers baby dry. My sister used luvs and really liked them until I got her hooked on swaddlers/cruisers. You can't really go by the weight because it always seems like a baby needs the next size before he/she actually gets to the weight listed. At least in my experience.

braden was i think

I like the pampers swaddlers because they are soft and if you feel them from the outside they are crinkly when dry and soft when wet so it was really easy for me to tell when she was wet. But I have switched to huggies because that's the brand they have at costco. Aliyah is 10lbs 13ounces and I have her in a size two. We bought a bunch of diapers before she was born so when we ran out of ones I put her in two's and they worked just fine, a little baggy, but now she they fit her.

And Tyler probably doesnt' weight that much. Aliyah was almost 8lbs at her two week appointment and I thought when we went in for the 2 month she'd be 11-12 because she felt so heavy but she wasn't. I also thought she had grown a lot taller, but she hadn't.

ive been using huggies on my son since he was born. About a month ago, the store didnt have any his size so i bought luv's. I LOVE them!! I like that they dont LOOK all heavy when he's really peed, unlike Huggies, which i liked becuase of the stretchy waist. Plus they soaked right through.
ill probably use luv's on my girl as well Never tried Pampers though, maybe ill give em a try, i think they're cheaper??

Zoey, about Tyler's diaper size, i'd always go by what the package said, and they always fit him right. Then again, this was huggies. He's using a size 5 now and he weighs 32 lbs. I know, i know, im working on potty training. I know they go up to size 6 but im hoping i dont have to use em. They give you less diapers as you move up in size!!! = (

I use huggies. i dont know why they just seemed cooler than pampers. hmm shes 12lbs and once were done with the next 20 or so were going to go into 2's because shes a CRAPPER ;)

i use huggies. new born size. she was in premies for the first 2 weeks. i use huggies because they fit good, and my sister and i were allergic to pampers.

I used to use the panpers swaddlers for kendra, but now I usually fer the wal mart brand. The work great and are about half the price. SHe is just now in sz 2 and she is prob about 14ish pounds by now. It really depends on the brand and how the baby is built. Like a tall 14lb baby may wear a sz one and a very short one may wear a sz 3. I get them so they are a little big, because she has sensitive skin and her legs ger red if they hug her to closely.

oh and huggies makes half sizes too I think, but I only used them one time and I didn't like them
