Okay, I've been looking at a lot photo albums from your journals and I have a question about ultrasound pics.

Some of them have typed words on them like, Foot, sucking thumb, arm, etc.etc. Did your u/s technician type that in or did you type it on a photo program after scanning it?

Also, we don't want to know the sex of the baby. If I'm looking at the screen, will I be able to tell the sex without the tech pointing it out to me?

My son was easy to tell and all you had to do was look they cout the pic tight of his butt and legs and well yeah you got it. The tech typed in on my pics my face my foot my head my hand each pic said something but not all of them 2 say my face and look similar. I hope this helps tho

My first one said BABY with an arrow pointing to it, it was so cute. Now her head does not fit in the same screen!! But yes they type it in. At your 19 week ultrasound they type all over the place. About not knowing the sex; for me it was hard to get it out of them. Firstly my daughter was very shy and it took three U/S visits to find out and secondly no-one seemed keen to tell me. TYhey will generally call your baby, bubs, or he rather than it, but it is no indicator to what he/she is. My baby is always getting called he - but she is a she.

they circled my sons umm he calles it his turtle, and put an arrow and wrote its a boy that was cute, yep they grow quick in and out of the tummy! I can't believe it feels like I just found out with him and now he's almost 2 and I was wondering where the year went by

Just tell the U/S tech that you don't want to know the sex of the baby right away. My sister was going to wait until they got to that point, but the technician found it and it was obvious to everyone what they were having. Me on the other hand, told them right away that I wanted to know. They got some shots for us too and typed on all of the pictures, it's cute.

my first one at like 8 weeks said "baby alejandra" even though she was just a little blobby thing, its cause i had a nice doc in costa rica who took his time and was nice and didnt have like 60 people waiting.... only charged me like 25 dollars, can you believe it?
the next one i got was in the states and they were too busy to write anything on there....i wanted them to write baby alejandra again but no. i wanted to send the pic to the babys father in costa rica, i guess to try to make him feel bad.... anyways there was no name so i tried to put one on there myself with a copying machine and printer and it looks like such a fake, i sent one to the babys father and they say he was like, that crazy girl got a hold of someones ultrasound pic and put her name on it to try and trick me what a weirdo!

Hi Jan. To answer your questions: 1. The words were typed by the sonographer, and 2. Just tell your sonographer you don't want to know the sex, and she'll be sure not to show the gender parts to you :)

To Jan:
I am 36 weeks, and I don't know the sex of my baby, I have had a total of 4 ultrasounds. My tech have been great about the issue, they would turn the screen around to look at his/her gender or legs. They also didn't write the gender in the chart so no one eles would accidently tell me. Just remember to remind them before they start that you don't want to know, sometimes they forget to ask.
