hay all i had my planned 28wks scan on tuesday and when they messured my little man they sed that his legs and head are the rite size and show at 28 weeks which is what i am and for his stomach it was messuring at 30+5 so they sey im havin a big baby if i go full term he will be about 8 and half to 9pounds baby,

but if i go at 34wks he will be about 6pounds which i say is better for me i will struggle giving birth to an 9pounder, im sayin 34 wks as my daughter was born at 34wks and she waighed 5lb 1oz , so they say i have a high chance of going early again..... if so i only have 6weeks left
whoo hooo

sometimes when the baby measures differently in different areas, it's an indication of gestational diabetes....have you done your glucose test yet?

if you haven't done it yet and do in fact find out that you have GD, they'll put you on a meal plan which really helps with the weight gain, of you AND baby....and that way you have a chance of NOT having such a big baby!

you should of had it by now, they make you drink a sugary drink then take your blood

well i don't know about where you live, but where i'm from the test is routine and mandatory by 28 weeks. that's normally about the time you get the test done. because it takes a bit to get the results back and by 32 weeks, is when you start to become the most resistant to the insulin in your body. just mention this to your doctor/midwife....it's basically a sugary drink you drink then an hour later they take some blood from you to see how high your blood sugar is.

i would call your doctor and ask why you haven't been tested for GD yet??

yeah your supposed to have it done like your 27th or 28th week... you drink this sugary liquid and then wait an hour then they take blood

it's good to catch it now...if you do have GD, it's not the end of the world...most people with GD, will not have it anymore once the baby is born....

if you catch it now, you can get it under control and have a good chance of delivering a normal size baby!! :-) good luck to you1!
