The only reason a boy would be different from a girl is if you have him circumcized and there is no one to do it that next day. Otherwise, the timeline is the same for both sexes. You would be there maybe an extra day at least because of the tubal ligation anyway, so you and your son would be there together. You'll be most likely having it done endoscopically. In some cases, they go through your belly button and maybe have a couple of extra tiny incisions over the area of the ovaries. They cut, burn, fold back, and/or clip the tubes, which you shouldn't feel afterward. They use gas to expand your abdomen, so you'll have to lie completely flat many hours afterward to prevent trapped gas from rising to your shoulder area (hurts like crap). All this is in the event you have a vaginal delivery. With a C-section, they may choose to do it then and there while you have an epidural. It's a fairly simple thing that's done regularly. You should have no problems. Good luck to you!

all i know is after a vaginal birth you stay in the hospital for 48 hours, for a C section you stay 72 hours, but not sure about the tubes tied thing, but my son is getting circumcision , but at all the hospitals up where i live, they don't do it, so the next day after we get out of the hospital thats when they do the circumcision

I don't think there's any difference as far as gender goes.. usually it's about 2 days regardless for a first baby, and 1 for a second or third. And for a C-section it's about 3.

And as for the tubal litigation, if you have a c-section they may do it at the same time or they may not. Some doctors prefer to wait until at least 6 weeks postpartum because it is easier for them to see what is going on in there without a giant uterus in the way.
