You can't stop braxton hicks, it's your bodys way of preparing for labor. When you have them trying drinking a ton of water, change your position or walk, that will usually help ease the discomfort. ↑ |
Also, don't freak out. Pain is a perseption. If you decide it is pain, it is going to be pain]
if you decide it is pressure, it is going to be easyer. I am 1 week overdue and I have these braxton Hicks on a daily basis. IWhen it happens, I first ignore them and carry on my regular activities. If they persist, I lay on my left side and drink a little. Sometimes they stop, sometimes they dont. When they dont, I just put some relaxing music and focus on something else, something that makes me feel good. My favorite music relaxation is Steven Halpern. Let me know if it helps... ↑ |
No way of stopping them. Just relax. And believe me you'll know when they're real contractions. BH Contractions are nothing like real ones. ↑ |
My last pregnancy I had what was put down to BH contractions for 2weeks before my son arrived 4 wks early- they were so intense and often that I didnt notice I was actually in labour till I was 8 cm dilated- I never found anything that helped in that whole time, if it gets bad enough you can take codine- it helps knock the top off the intensity. other than that unfortuantly its a case of grin and bear it ↑ |
