hey girls,
im really confused right now. i took quite a few tests and got various positives and negatives.
heres the pattern:
P, N, P, N, N, N, N, P

two of the negatives before the last positive were actually expired tests and i didnt know it until after i took it...silly me i didnt check before i bought it. so i dont think those count.

when i took the tests and got the positives, they were faint lines, shouldnt the hcg double every two days? my stomach is getting bigger right in front of my eyes and everything. what should i do? im considering having my best route be to take a blood test and find out for sure.

i just want to know if any of you have gone through this same situation....

oh , and the last positive, at first it wasnt positive, and i got upset and just left it sitting face up in my room for a couple more minutes, maybe 2 or 3 and then it showed up faded too. the only time ive gotten positives is with the e.p.t home pregnancy test. hopefully they aren't called Error Proof for nothing!

Well I heard the hpt test are pretty acurate. You might need to get a blood test from your doc to confirm it.
I took 3 different hpt test and they were all postive.
Good Luck!

First, if you just recently purchased the HPT test that were expire took them back. The store is require to give you money back for item that have already expired. And yes this can give you a false negative.

You can receive a false positive should you let the test sit for longer then what the direction say. After a while the test strip will absorb more of your urine causing the positive strip to become clearer.

Now for those test that were not left sitting or where not expired but had a faint line there is a great possibility that you may be pregnant unless you are currantly take something that contains HCG. I'm not sure how late you are but this can also affect the results of a test as fair as the shade of the line.

I would say to either wait a couple of days and take another test or call to see if you can't get in to have a blood test done. I actually had three negatives with the E.P.T. test and contacted the manufacture and the actually reimbursed me. I recieved all of my positives with Wal-Mart's Equate brand.

thank you, you guys. like i said, the reason that ive been thinking to not believe them is because they are the faint lines not big ole fat dark ones.
no, im not taking anything that has HCG in it. i was taking birth control but i stopped taking it back in May , it was making me really sick and i kept forgetting days so i pretty much said screw it.

when are you taking then test? i know that when i took mine, i would take them with my morning pee so that my urine wasn't diluted by everything under the sun. ironically, all of my home tests came back positive, and my blood test came back negative. weird huh? i waited and took a blood test w/in a week of the 1st one, and it finally came back positive. good luck though, and if you stress out about it, that can also change the results as well. let us know!

Whether it's a faint line or a dark line you can pretty much assume that it's positive. Unless there is another reason for your test to come back positive you can pretty much assume that they are exactly that.

A HPT actually just detects HCG where as a blood test says how much HCG there is.
