I'm really starting to get concerned. Christian is 6 months old now and still severly colic, crying upwards of 10 hours a day! My first was sucha happy baby. The peditrician keeps telling us that there is no medical reason why he's crying so much, but really can it be normal for a 6 month old baby to be this unhappy?

When i was a baby i used to cry ALL DAY , ALL NIGHT and my mum was constanlty worried something was wrong.. and taking me to doctors to seee if anything was wrong.. but there wasnt anything wrong at all... Some babies just cry alot for no particular reason. and they DO grow out of it.

Colic can last beyond 6 months. My son is still a very fussy and demanding baby. He often cries for no reason. He was great for the first 3 weeks of his life, and then he got sick and ended up in the hospital. After that he was very colicky and at 9.5 months, he still cries in the evenings. I give him gas drops at night and rock him with a blanket and soother. He is getting easier to figure out.

In most cases it is gone by 3 months...but my doctor said in some babies it can last for up to a year. I guess I am one of those lucky moms.

I have to cuddle mine to sleep with a soother too, he will not fall asleep if he's not in my arms. He's such an unhappy baby tho.. I wish there was something I could do to help him:(

What about a swing? My son has the Fisher Price Open top Crade Swing (Rainforest) and he slept in it until he was 5 months and I occasionally still put him in it for naps when he is fussy. Just put it on high speed and give him a blanket and soother.

The swing used to work for like 2 or 3 minuites out a time but now he knows how to stop it from moving.he'll get in the intellatainer , exersaucer and jolly jumper for a few minuites each sometimes.I can deal with the crying just wish he'd get over it soon it's been 6 months already!
