i asked the pet forum but they are all to busy bickering about pit bulls so heres my question i have 3 dogs 2 are kennel trained. i just got checo not to long ago he wont stay out of my bed. he comes from a horrific home so we took him in he sure is a good dog. so i went out and got him the softest bed ever. i am getting bigger and ther is just not enough room for me my other half and checo. so he sleeps in his bed but as soon as everyone is sleeping he sneaks in and hoggs the bed does anyone have any ideas????? im sorry i know this isnt a pet chat room but hes driving me bonkers lol

Honestly, I'm clueless when it comes to dogs. Do you not want to kennel him like your other two because of his background? I can understand that, but it might become necessary if you can't get any sleep.

Sorry I can't help you out, we don't have any pets, however... I have the same problem with my husband. I go to sleep and he creeps in a little bit later and all of the sudden has taken up the entire bed. Let me know if you find a solution because I could use it too! Hehe.

Hey I am from the pet forum too, but it's too hard to be there with everyone fighting and with that Hiddy chick. Is there anyway that you could lock him out of you room? You are probably not going to want him in there when the baby is born, right? And you are definately going to want him to not be on the bed by then. I would try putting him in his own room or kennel. My dogs are in kennels at night, and are outside for most of the day. When they do come in though, they will not go on the beds that we have bought for them. They go for the couch ( we only let them on one) Last week though we were cleaning out the spare bedroom to toss all the babys stuff in and we got rid of a futon. I just threw the mattress into the living room until I could take it out to the shed, and when I went out there again, both of my dogs were laying stretched right out on it. I stuck it in a corner and put their beds away and now they are ok there. No more trying to get on the "forbidden couch" or anything. I don't know if you have the room, but you could try putting a people bed or mattress somewhere. We have put a blanket on it for them to sleep on and are planning on trying to put the blanket on their other bed and try to trick them. I hope some of that helps. sorry I kinda rambled!

Yeah god forbid anyone have a pitbull. I don't but I still got jumped on because I don't hate people who do. If it's not a shetland sheepdog, you better watch out!

I lock my goldfish out of the bedroom at night too... :D Just kidding! He's allowed in and out whenever he so chooses.

Sorry... don't mean to make light of your situation, I'm just bored at work and trying to amuse myself till the day is over!

I have two who are the same way. Angus is super sensitive because he came from a bad home. What I do is go to bed like 10 minutes early and let him curl up with me. Then I kick him off onto his bed. When he sneaks up, I just tell him to get back down. I give him a treat when he goes to his bed and gush about what a good dog he is. My other dog, oscar, will get off the bed whenever I tell him. But Angus gets so upset and needy I feel terrible. The treat thing is working though. It's taken patience - like potty training - but he seems to now get that it's a big great thing he's doing to get off the bed. Normally I would love him on the bed but it pisses my husband off. I grew up with dogs on the bed. He grew up with dogs in the backyard. :) Good luck.

p.s. i have a spare bedroom and have found if i send them to "bed" in there first, my dogs are fine and will stay there because they have an entire bed to hog. and they get to sleep up near the pillows where it's even more comfy. :)

I have a boxer ,she sleeps in her bed and ours. We have a king size bed but still she wants to sleep on me.
We have tired everything, I will have a bassinet in the room when the baby comes so maybe the crying will drive her crazy and she will sleep some where else.
