i was induced and it took soooooooooooooo long for things to start happening. i was stuck at 2 cm for HOURS, but once things did get going they REALLY got going and i didn't have time for an epidural, so if you want one, make sure you ask for it WELL before you really need it because induced labors have a reputation for bringing on very very hard labor pains. that's the only kind of labor pains i know about because i only have one child, but i can tell you it WASN'T pleasant... that's the only thing i can think of -- good luck!

My induction went really quick. I think as long as you know what you want in the begging you will be fine. Make sure you know if you want the epidural or not. I think me knowing what I want and having a set game plan on the birth made it go easier.

As far as risks, your chances for a c-section do go up a bit.

i was induced with both of my kids so i'm not sure what it's like to go into labor on my own (kinda hoping i get to find out this time....but also kinda nervous about doing that way)...my first daughter they started the pit at about 7am (i was already 4 1/2cm when they started) and she was born at 4:26pm that afternoon....with my second daughter they started the pit at 7am (i was already 6 1/2cm when they started) and she was born at 9:28am. i had an epi. with my first but when without pain meds with my second......not sure if this helps at all but i thought maybe hearing about my experience may help. i don't know about the labor pains being stronger because i've never given birth without being induced but like i said i had my second without pain meds so surely it can't be that much worse...either that or i'm like super woman lol

my water broke on its own, and i was having contractions 2 mins apart but i would not dialate, so after about 8-9 hours i was put on a slow drip of pitocin, still nothing, an hour later, upped it, nothing again, upped it somemore and omg let the pain begin. lol i was at 18 on the drip and after 29 hours all together from the time my water broke to when i started pushing ,, i pushed for an hour and bam lol
