ya same with us, living paycheck to pay check, it sucks i hate it, we would be ok if the army paid us the 10G's that they owe us!

yup pretty much, he gets like a 100 a month when hes home, but othr than that he gets paid from his other job

Name: Coartney | Date: Jun 11th, 2007 5:15 PM
how do they owe you 10k?

You need to have Scott talk to his superior officer, all military personel qualify for WIC, and in most cases food stamps. Make sure you cross all your t's and dot all your i's, this is government funding used for military personel!!!!

hes overseas though.. we qualify over there, but i dont work over there.. but here they're saying with 3 of us, regardless of his job, he makes roughly 2k a month and i make almost 1k a month, so thats too much. i dont get it. i seriously dont.

I hope 1moreintheoven is right about all military personel being qualified for WIC. They certainly deserve it. I used to work at a food bank and to see all these lazy ass scumbags who just live off other people and our own military families can't even get WIC? What a crock!

Oh and I do have a friend who works for the health department and sometimes does the wic stiff. She is the one who told me to jsut use my income once I was part time. I sort of feel bad thinking about it, but when the formula was only costing me 12.00 per can it was fine, but it is only going to get more expensive the more she starts to eat and we are already at about 300.00 per month for her formula. Anyway my friend told me that they do not check.

I agree,I don't think they check you coartney... and even if they did you could say that you miscalculated ... it's worth a try....just say you work less hours.. make less money

hey coart, if you register at infamil.com, similac.com, goodstart.com, they send you all sorts of free stuff, including really hefty coupons to use towards your formula. also, get your formula bulk at sams club, bj's club, cosco, etc. You get double the amount for the same price the regular sells it for. the cans are huge! i was having the same issue when i stopped breastfeeding with christian at 7 months. it got so expensive. i actually lied and said i was single (which technically i was b/c todd and i weren't married until christian was 1 yr. old). just try again later on and only use your paystub and say your hubby left you and ya'll are separated. trust me, wic doesn't look into it that much. welfare & social services on the other hand, do! i got caught lying before. they pulled up dmv records on todd and i got denied. i mean we made enough to support the baby, but we just needed a little bit extra help, esp. when i wasn't working and was staying home with christian. money got real tight. so, try all that. i hope it helps. what kind of formula do you use?

similac isomil? soy

Name: jillw | Date: Jun 12th, 2007 6:30 PM
hay coart if you buy it in the big containers you will save a few bucks and if he isn't real sensitive you can buy the store brand of soy formula with dha and ara. you can usually get it for about half the price. I have not researched it, but I heard that wal-mart's parents chioce is very good and it is only about 12.00 for the big 32oz (or what ever the oz is...the big ass can) of the powdered suff. They all have to follow the same standards so it shouldn't really be any different.
