I know what you mean Julie. The only thing keepingme here is A. The fact that no one will hire a 6 month pregnant girl and B. I dont want to lose my maternity pay. Hang in there. Do you have some state help?

Trust me I know what you mean Julie. Now that you are not working I would try for everything... Daycare assistance, food stamps, energy asst... anything.

i actuallt just a a call from Thyme maternity..lol.. I have an interview tomorrow.. it's a downgrade from what I actually do for work, but it's shift work which with doctors appts and stuff is way better then a monday to friday, which is what my last job was, and my job before that..lol.... and they know I am pregnant which is great, even when she was setting up the interview on the phone I was able to tell her I have an ultra sound tomorrow... which I can't wait for!!!

I agree with mommyagain, go and see what you can get for assistance while you are out of work. Being that your 4 1/2 months pregnant it probably isn't going to be such a great idea not to tell the employer since 1) you are obviously eventually going to show and they are going to question why you didn't let them know, 2) So that you do not end up with a job that you will not be able to do because of the pregnancy and 3) just over 4 months you will be out having your baby.

Since Christmas is almost here so many stores just need temp staff. So I think you can get a job very easliy. Do you have a Linen "N" Things near buy? I know they are always hiring, or any department store for Christmas. Good Luck.
I am also 19 weeks, and I can't wait to be done work.

I would love to be done work, but my company tops me up for 17 weeks and then I get maternity from the goverment for the rest of the 12 months( plus they let me have the company car). But still with the perks you just want to be,especially it snowed tons today!!!!

It is just unemployment insurance. Everyone in Canada gets it,as long as you were working. The only give 60% of your pay top at $48,000.00 income so if you make more you can only get the max. So $1400 a month isn't very much- I guess I better breast feed.

it better than nothing though. I could make it for a year at 60% of my pay.

But if it maxs out at $48,000.00 so it doesn't matter if you make $100,000.00 the goverment will only give you 60% of $48,000.00 max. But if you did make $100,000.00 a year I don't think you would have to worry about much.I need to win the lotto.

yep... and I still need enough hours for EI... I quit my last two jobs, but I don't think it matters because I leave one job and start another soon after..lol... so the 180 hrs or whatever I accumlated at my last job should still go towards my 600 hours needed!!! I can work till the middle or end of february:~)
