dani, why not? the only thing that ive read so far on it is that it can cause infection to you because they tell you not to bathe some odd hours afterwards, so being in water increases the risk. they say that some mothers are scared of their babies "drowning" but i dont think thats possible because their lungs are still collapsed until they hit air. even with a regular birth their lungs still function the same. i wanted to do water birth too. but ive decided to go natural since this is my first, that way it will give me some experience on how to push and how exactly labor works. i want to do it later on....i looks soo neat. like your muscles push for you and your body knows what its doing when you have a water birth. that was pretty awsome to watch that on TLC. you can find alot of stuff on water birth but if your extremly healthy i say go for it. oh, there was one thing that i was confused on though, do you have to have a midwife for that?

My aunt was one of the first women from the united states to give birth in the water (this was in 1985?) I was 10 years old at the time... anyway, she did it in France and was in all these magazines--- the pictures are soo cool! She always said that that was the MOST natural way of giving birth! I say, 'go for it!'

what is a birthing center? your right. thats why i wont do it yet, i want to see what the real thing is like first and then go on and talk about water birth.

a birthing center is like a hospital and hotel together its supposed to be more comfortable but they cant do surgery or anything so if something goes wrong they send you to the hosptiol so my husband would rather not take the chance and just have it at the hospital
