Ok, so I have ED tendancies but have been really good since finding out that I was preggy. Fasting can be very healthy and cleansing for the body and I was wondering if it would be healthy and cleansing for the baby too?

no fasting while being pregnant is very serious and potentialy very dangerous for both you and your baby. Doing this while you are pregnant not only puts both your lives in danger but also increases the chances of your child being born with major defects and brain damages. please for yours and your childs sake eat normally until you have delivered the child and until breast feeding is uneccessary, thats approx 3months after child birth. for more info feel free to e-mail me: [email protected]

Don't fast while pregnant! I relapsed into anorexia while pregnant and lost 10 pounds. They had to put me in the hospital and feed me by T.P.N. I.V. and even then I went into labor 2 months early. My baby was only 2 pounds 15 ounces and I could have lost him. Fasting while pregnant is dangerous!

Cleansing and healthy?? Are you serious? Have you ever heard of malnutrition or seen pictures of the starving kids in Africa??
Are you so self absorbed that you are going to cause developmental harm to our baby?

The purpose of fasting is to cleanse your body of toxins. Your baby is not developed enough to have toxins. It would only be harmful, and risking birth defects if not fatality.

If you find yourself still seriously thinking about this, after you have read all these postings, call your doctor. They will help you.

Remember it is only 9 short months. You can do this for at least 9 months.

No. You need to eat a healthy balanced diet to provide your unborn child with all the nutrients it needs to grow and develop. You need to accept that you HAVE to gain weight while you are pregnant. If you are having any kind of treatment for your ED, it should be focused on helping you deal with your changing body and achieving optimum intake. Research shows very clearly that dealing with any psychological issues that relate to why you may have an ED (past issues etc) they should be avoided during pregnancy.

Finally, fasting is not healthy nor does it cleanse your body. If you are eating a balanced healthy diet and meeting your fluid requirements your body is quite capable of cleansing itself. Fasting could cause irreversible damage to your unborn child. If need be, you can always lose the weight you have gained after your have given birth. You should expect to gain between 10 and 14kg. If you have a diagnosed ED or think you may have one and are not currently receiveing help for it, please notify your midwife as soon as possible.

it will KILL your baby....
your baby inside you is developing ... it is not a human that needs to diet... if you starve it , it will be born with brain damage .. if it even survives-
iknow youre not tryiung to harm it n purpose but that is what will happen...
if you need to fast, just eat normal with the prgnancy and then starve all you want once the baby is born...
