im16 and i am a ballet dancer.. im 5 6 and 118 and i look at all the girls that are professional dancers and i want to be skinny jujst like them and i want o lose weight but all i think about is food all the timeand i dont want o eat cuz when i do i feel like a failure.. and i usualy make myself sick afterwards.. i hate this and i m ttired all the time.. i sleep at least 12 hours aday.. but usualy 14.. because when i sleep i cant eat or think about food.. but im not losing weight like i want to.. its just not working and i hate my self because when i look in the mirror all i see is a fat girl with huge hips.. y cant i see whta my friends say they see?

u remind me so much of myself. at 16, im also 5'6" i use to weigh 132, then in one month i went down to 114. i had also joined ballet in school and thats when i started having issues w/ my body. my friends use to tell me to eat a jar of lard; i also couldnt see what they saw. some told me i looked sick. i remember one day i ate one dorito and i didnt eat for 3 whole days after that. looking back, im sure i looked good. i never took pics cuz i thought i was so fat. just look around u, not at the proffessional dancers, but in school, and look how some chubby girls are so happy with themselves. u need to find some confidence. i know it;s hard, but just try to enjoy urself. i dont know how i did it. im now 20 with an 18month old son. i weigh 127, and im happier with my body now than i was when i was 114. ur hips are probably perfect, not too big not too small. just dont try to lose weight. work out instead, that's what i do know. i think i look better than i did before. if u cant stop thinking about it, PLEASE seek help. dont give up, im talking proof that u can be ok with urself someday. take care ok

ok .. so i havent eaten in a few days.. and crazily .. im not hungry .. at all im now at 114 and every time i lose apound.. i feeel like i just wona n award... but now here is my problem.. there is a posibility that i could be pregnant.. nuff said.. so that add to my stress levle just a bit and i dont plan on gaining weight for ne one.. not iven if i testpositive

I know what you mean. I too love to dance and would give anything to be skinny like all the professional dancers. But one thing that i noticed is when i started doing all the crazy things that come along with bulimia, i began to get tired. I was so discouraged in dance because i always wanted to get out of class and go to bed. I was tired all the time. My dancing really went downhill and i would give anything to be normal again. They say dancing is the best exercise so i really believe that a lot of the dancers actually eat healthy but work out a lot. I mean they dance all the time. You've got to burn a lot of calories doing that. I dont really know what to tell you for when you think about food all the time. I would say if you feel a binge coming on, turn on the radio and channel all that emotion into something productive. Good luck girl.

well to start ..ballet is high calorie burning and if you dont eat of course you will be tired ... and plus sleeping for that long takes a huge toll on your skin.... your skin will age much faster if you consistantly sleep for that long and by the time your 25 wrinkles !! ... take up a hobby when you arent doing ballet so you wont be always thinking about food .... and the probable reason for why you think about it so much is because your HUNGRY yes i said hungry and being hungry isnt a bad thing . if u feed ur hunger when it hits you then u will be fine and you dont have to stuff your face just eat a healthy meal and a grab a snack before ballet so you can have a sense of power in you ... i am an athlete and when i eat i dont think about it as food but more as energy so when i play i have power in me that i can use and when i come home of course i will eat a meal cause i lose more calories when i play then when i eat ... yuore not fat so you do need to feed yourself only overweight people have to lose more calories than they eat

hey- wow everyone gave you really good advice.
all I cna say is that people with an ED are never satisfied... and either eventually die, live out a life of being miserable and having to quit things like dancing due to osteoperosis, or end up recovering, gaining a healthy amount of weight and excell in their passions and learn to love life with a healthy body weight.
You can do it too- being tired and hating yourself.... that is not how you want to live, you seem to wan tto smile, dance, be energetic, happy.... there is no winner whne you battle with weight...
try to maybe see a therapist specialized in Eating disorders.. learn as much about them as you can and try to stop now befor eyou have major health complications and so into the ED that it seems impossible to stop... becuase in the end.... you will loose...
