Thank-you T-rabbit, Lecia, & lindalu for your replies. The culture from Rocko's ear & nose came back e-coli 4+. Poor thing! The vet suspects she is still allergic to pollins and such as so do I by comparing her to my good & bad days. So I'll continue the chlora tabs 4 mil. daily. Her food test isn't over yet as it takes at least 5 weeks with no treats no anything but the IVD Duck & Potato vet formula food before we can either rule it out or not. The vet suspects she has been battling with allergies to begin with for so long it became a systemic problem in an advanced stage, ( he was her first vet before we moved & treated her with the same suspician at 11 months)on top of the possibility of eating poop. He said there are different strains of e-coli. That it is a bacteria that lives in the gut of us all. We did have horses and it seems dogs go for that poopy stuff but I forgot to ask him if that could be the culprit. She is on another antibiotic orally & in the ears for 21 more days. She is a whole lot better. She's not had any hair loss. She's still snotty but not nearly as bad & actually has her healed red nose back! Her other symptoms were red gums & a rash between her toes & on her belly. The best part is she is back to her energetic cute self & not so lethargic any more. She was really sick for a long time, poor thing.
On American Pit Bull Terriers, we absolutely adore this dog, she is so smart, mild natured and beautiful. She has been an absolute joy, so easy to train from the time she was a pup. At a junk yard nearby they have an old APBT that just hangs with the chickens. This one never had an interest in the rabbits until a little dog we got showed her the sport, but she'll stop a chase if I tell her to & is fortunately a little on the lazy side any way & would rather hang with mom & dad.
On the dog food it cost me $40 for 20lbs. for the vet formula IVD RX, Seems pretty steep to me. I went on a dog food rating site & the vet said the natural foods I mentioned (I forgot my list & only remembered one name Timber Wolf Organics $49+ s&h for 38lbs.)were not scientifically tested. Anyway most were just as high if not pricier. But it was very educational. No grains seems to be the common thread. Any comments, experience with Timber Wolf or others?

Good to see she is back to normal and her condition was just allergies. I have heard that Timber Wolf is a good food, in fact I think thats one of the foods T-rabbit had mentioned in one of the other threads. APBT are great dogs, as you said smart energetic and yes.... they are very cute! Good luck, I hope she stays well.
