My beloved black kitty is getting his operation on Wednesday! He's going to be neutered :-(

I'm nervous about this and feel quite sad about it really. I can't believe he's 6 months old already! He's never gonna be a dad :-(

It will be fine this is the best thing you can do as a responsible owner.

He will be fine, and then you can cuddle with him all day. I have to take both of the dogs in for their heart worm checks tomorrow. That should be fun, taking those two at the same time.
Good luck, and I hope that it all goes well!!!

Well this is the day girls! I have to phone up in a couple of hours to find out if he's okay :-/

They're gonna identity microchip him while they're on as well. I'm scared in case somebody steals him.

Aw...he's so gorgeous. His coat is like silk and he has these lovely light green eyes. He was cryin' in the car on the way to the vets :-(

I hope that he's still speakin' to me when I pick him up :-/

Yeah!!!!!!! He's back and he's okay :-D

I have to keep him inside for the next 24 hours - it's gonna be difficult with the kids - they keep going out into the garden. Never mind, at least the dreaded deed is done and he's survived to tell the tale!

Thats great every thing went well! He will be fine and there will be less of a chance for that he will get lost or hurt. I think its good you had a microchip placed in him, you dont see many cat owners doing that.

I am glad he is doing good.
I think it is great, that you take such good care of your kitties. I have a friend that has 2 cats, and she has never taken them to the vet. When I suggest it, she makes it sound like I am crazy. I know that it can get expensive, but that is what you take on when you get a pet. I had to take the dogs to the vet yesterday and walked out paying $320.

Vet care is outrageous. You would think for a small visit they had did surgery. I have yet to see a vet bill under 200.00 when we go to the vet. I am in the wrong business to make money :-(

I know - the costs are way high. I don't know how people can just avoid the vets though. If my pets were sick I wouldn't let them suffer - I couldn't do that.

I find that feeding them a really good quality food can help to avoid a lot of health problems. My eldest cat had dental problems when I first got her. The vet advised that I feed her a Premium Dried food - it would help to keep her teeth clean.

I did just that and her teeth are great - she's never had any health problems in the 6 years that I've had her. I think that their diet makes a big difference to them.

I give the dogs "greenies" about once or twice a month. That really seems to help their teeth. The reason my bill was so high, was it was time to get their heart worm pills. Since they both weigh between 50-100 pounds, they were $80 for each dog. So $160 for the heart worm pills for a year. Plus Nika neeed her rabies shot, and her blood test. Toby just needed his blood test,

When my Timmy & Dora Rats were alive, it cost me $150.00 for Timmy to be neutered and $500.00 for Dra to have her tumors removed. That was for rats! Almost as much as a dog or cat.
