Hi ladies, I was just wondering if this is normal. Last night was my first night home with my newborn and when I woke up in the morning, his onsie and blanket were damp. It was only on his back and not on the front. Is this ok, or do you think he has a fever?

You should never put a loose blanket in the crib with a baby, it can increase the risks of SIDS, dress your baby in a warm sleeper instead and keep room temp between 68-72.

Maybe the room was too warm? Maybe you should check babies temperature?Maybe blanket was too heavy?Maybe babies hot blooded?Maybe you should contact babies doctor's office and schedule a checkup and have a list in hand of all your questions and concerns!?

Newborns mustn't be allowed to get too hot! Don't cover him with blankets up to his shoulders - just up to his tummy area.

Don't ever cover the head with a hat whilst sleeping.

Put him to sleep on his back.

Give him a pacifier - these have been proven to reduce the risk of SIDS.

Buy a forehead thermometer and take his temperature too find out if he's feverish.

Keep the room cool not warm and give some ventilation. As long as he's not in a draught it's good to open a window.

Get your doctor to check him out.
