up to now oliver has had regular poopy nappies ..but it was a good 26 hours before he pooped..and when he did it was really green and runny..and stunk to high heven.

(usually he would poop 3x plus in a day and it would not stink)

He is getting fed properly, and sometimes anywhere between 2 and 4 hourly.

I guess i just want to make sure he is ok, and isnt sick or anything

- he has PLENTY of wet nappies

As long as he's not vomiting, is having wet nappies and is taking milk okay then don't worry. Babies do sometimes get yucky nappies - could be a mild virus or something. As long as he's well in himself it's no big deal.

Just keep an eye on him. My sons used to get horrible nappies sometimes, but they usually clear up after a day or two. It's just their bowels maturing and getting used to dealing with different germs. They need some infection to build up their immune system.

That sounds very similar to my little girl when she was about 4 weeks old. She was pooing practically with each nappy change and then suddenly she didn't poo for 3 days! I was freaking out and then when she did poo again it was slightly green and not that runny and yes it stunk the house out. She has now gone to pooing once to three times a day (she is 9 weeks now) and it still stinks, i definitely know when she has pooed now! As long as he has wet nappies with each change and he seems well, no fever and doesn't appear to be in any pain, it should be fine. Sometimes starting a formula can slightly constipate them, it would not hurt to give small amounts of water from a bottle if u think it may help him to poo (I am a pharmacist and we like recommending increasing water intake to make someone poo!).
