Hi. I need help on how to tell my boss that I am pregnant. I just moved from one state to another and started a new job at an Insurance company. I have only been working for my employer for 2 months. We opened a satallette office in which I am the only employee ( untill business picks up). I am worried what my boss will say, considering I am the only employee that works at the satallette office. Not sure who will cover for me while on leave. Help!! Thank you!

Hi. I just wanted to say that I know exactly how your feeling. I just moved to a new state and I have only been with my employer for about a month and a half. I am 28 weeks pregnant and still keeping that knowledge to myself. I am not showing too much so it hasn't been too hard to not address the issue. I definately have to do it soon though. I am due in less than 3 months! I am thinking the best way to handle this sort of situation is to inform human resources first and cover all bases legally. Get all the info you can get about your rights and how you plan to handle preperations before you leave and when you plan on returning to work. No matter what happens remember how joyous being a new mommy is going to be! Good luck, and congradulation!

Hi Melissa and Sara, I was wondering if you have spoken with your bosses yet and what the outcome was. I may be in a similar situation soon. I am hoping to get a job that I have been after for a while. I find out this week. The position requires long hours and I too, would be the only one in the office, as the company is also openening a sattelite office. This weekend I tested positive for a preganany test. If I get a job offer this week, I am wondering whether or not I should tell them.
