So I've mentally checked out of work for the day. The hubby and I have lamaze tonight, so I'm thinking about using that as an excuse to leave about 30 minutes early. But until then, I have an hour to sit here and look busy. Anyone around who wants to chat?

think they'll notice if I just start reading my book?

Let's start a countdown. I leave at 5pm, and it's 2:54pm here in NY. Two hours left!.....

I don't have to look busy because I am the only one here, but it does get boring when I am not working which I have not felt like doing all day. I have a case of the icks and my throat hurts. I would much rather be at home sleeping.

I've been doing pretty well lately. Work has gotten crazy busy the past week. I only have 4 more weeks left of working (that is if the baby doesn't come early) and then I'm off for my 6 weeks of leave. I can't wait. It seems like the past couple weeks have been going so slowly since it's getting close to the end. Blake and I have been taking lamaze classes the past couple weeks. They've really been helping us learn more about what is going to happen, but to be honest, the videos still scare me a little when I see how much pain the mommies are in. I guess I'm just a big wuss. We finally bought a crib and my baby shower is Saturday, so we'll hopefully get most everything else that we need. The nursery is really starting to come together quickly now, which is easing my mind a lot.

Other than baby stuff, I've been attending a 3 hour lecture 2 nights a week for work. It wears me out, but it gives me something to do to make the time go faster. Blake's been working overtime at his new job, so if I don't have something to occupy my time at home, I just sit there and stew about stuff that still needs done around the apartment that I can't do anymore since I'm so far along. The doc hasn't actually put any restrictions on my physical activity, but Blake doesn't let me do much of anything anymore. He gets upset if I even try to carry a laundry basket around. I'm not sure if it was the lamaze classes or just his way of 'nesting' but he's become super protective of everything I do now. It's nice that he's doing so much, but sometimes I just feel helpless.

Anyways... that's what's up with me. How've you been?

That's awesome that you're almost done though...I hear you about being scared...I'm terrified, and I'm onlu 12 weeks. But I just try to think about how lucky I am to be prego and everything.
Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about what we should register for...I have no clue about what's out there, what we'll need...what are the best brands. That kind of stuff. And plus, we're in a weird spot right now because we're selling our house, and buying another, so I have so much on my mind with everything. I don't know where to start sometimes...and then the vivid dreams keep me from getting a good nights rest..so I feel really tired sometimes. Enough complaining....I love being prego...I really do.

I actually work in Connecticut, but live in NY. NY, CT and NJ is the tristate area, so it's not that strange...I work in Reinsurance. So it's an office with cubicles. Low cubicles....so I can't really hide. When I try to sneak read my book, it's like one eye's on the page, and the other is on the office to make sure no one's coming...LOL

3:08 offically here in ohio LOL. I am going to leave at about 4:30 today since I did not take a lunch break. Well my entire day has been a break, but not an offical one. I ahve beed doing well. I am feeling the baby move around a bit now so that it exciting. 17 weeks as of yesterday so I am looking to my 20 wk US and the offical half way mark YEAH. The entire family has been sick over the last couple of weeks so that it taking it's toll. I have not been sick in years, but I guess my immunity is down due to the pregnancy ro something.

How is the hubby liking the new job??

The registering was difficult for us too because this is our first and we really had no idea what all we needed and what brands were the best and how much of everything we needed. We ended up just registering for 'big' items (i.e. stroller, car seat, play yard, etc...) and that was about it. I figure that everyone coming to my shower has already had kids of their own and they know better what we will need than we do - and most of them won't use a registry either. I think after the shower is over, I'm just going to ask everyone what else we'll need and then Blake and I will make one big shopping trip to buy up the rest.

Oh he really loves his new job. He's talking about how he could stay there until retirement he likes it so much. It's very promising. It's not a desk job either, which is what he was trying to stay away from - those are hard to come by in the engineering world though. They've been working with him a lot on his hours too. The project he is assigned to is on an accelerated schedule, so there is lots of overtime to work. But the other guys he works with have kids already, and they understand about him needing to leave early for lamaze or doctor's appointments. They cover for him when we have stuff to do and then he stays late when their kids have school stuff going on. It's all working out very well. Looking back now on all the jobs that we were so upset that he didn't get seems silly to us now. It's obvious that he was meant to get this job and we were just being impatient. Funny how things work out when you think all is lost...

yeah i'm def going to have to ask around and do some research before registering...because with the wedding, we just walked around scanning anything, and there was so much on the list that we felt like we got some things that we really didn't need, and didn't get other stuff that we really needed....going to try not to make that mistake again.
It's 3:22...about 1.5 hours left for me...

See everything has a way of working out. It is always nice when you co workers are understanding and helpful. I don't think that we are going to regester for anything. I figure people are going to buy what they want anyway and my parents are buying all of the big stuff so I don't ahve to worry about that. I know that I will get 100 diaper bags because that is always what I see at showers that I go to. We are not finding out the sex so hopefully we will get lots of gift cards LOL. I know ti is not as fun to open up though

jillw i seen your thing about needing a rx to get an us is that why your not finding out?

Name: a.philo_3ks | Date: Oct 16th, 2006 7:43 PM
17 moinutes left on my count down

Name: melmoney | Date: Oct 16th, 2006 7:44 PM
I'm kinda hoping for lots of gift cards too. I know that sounds bad, but for our wedding it was nice to get lots of gift cards and then combine them together to buy the big items. I really don't expect anybody to buy the big expensive stuff, so I hoping for gift cards to help lighten the burden on us.

are you going to do a minute by minute countdown when it gets to 10? hehe

Name: melmoney | Date: Oct 16th, 2006 7:46 PM
so I've been hiding in my cube, talking online and not paying attention to what has been going on in the office. I just stood up and looked around and about 50% of the people have already left early for the day!

Name: jillw | Date: Oct 16th, 2006 7:47 PM
a. philo No I was wondering about needing an RX to get a 3d US only because I want 3d pics. MY dr office only does 2d and will only give an RX if medically necessary so I jsut wanted to know the rules. As for not finding out that is because my husband wants ta be suprised. I like the idea of being suprised, but I am like what is the difference if you are suprised at 20 weeks or 40 either way it is still news right.

I was really torn on whether or not I wanted to find out, but Blake wanted to know as soon as possible. I figured since I really didn't have strong feelings one way or the other, then why not? What really bothers me though, is the people that are very stuck on the fact that you should never find out beforehand and then they make rude comments when you tell them that you know what you're having.
