another thing:
no one will want to talk to you if you use their words against them

Humans are of course superior to animals. Very few animal rights activists dispute this. But just because animals are inferior to humans, does not mean that animals should be treated with the cruelty and injustice that many millions are subject to. It is the most intelligent of human who can treat those inferior to him/her with respect even when he/she has the power to do otherwise.

Ok lauren if you think I am triing to trick you into saying something then whatever, think whatever you want. I am beiing open minded however I, living in the area I live in, will not be swayed by anything unless it is something very powerful. I suspect that for the same reason you have not agreed with any of my thoughts. I will admit that talking on this site has made me look deeper into myself as to why I treat animals the way I do, but after a little thinking my stand has not changed. I hope my words will help you to think about your stand on the subject. I know I am getting long winded but just one more thing. I agree with brises, animals should be treated with respect, but that doesn't meen we shouldn't kill them. Animals should be killed humanely and probably should be killed for a reason.

Alright, I'm done, Happy New Year!!

i see your point.
Uhhh.... i realize that animals need to be killed, for human consumtion. I also agree that they need to be put to rest peacefully.
Now, the part where we disagree. I dont think it's all done humanly. Yes, some people do it right.
Some, dont. And i think if they dont have the respect for an animal they deserve loosing money, or something burning down.
It's harsh...but that's how i see it.
Happy New Year!

Ok, fair enough, If a person say starves an animal to death then that person should face punishment by the hands of the government. My point is (getting back to those radical animal groups) citizens in a country have no right to punish other citizens. It's like if, say you burn down all the trees on you property, the government has no law against it (like there is no law against killing animals) but a group finds otherwise and they burn your house down because they feel no tree should be burned. Is that right?

Antway I like animals but don't support radical groups, I hope you will do the same.

I don't believe the laws for animal cruelty are harsh enough. If they were there wouldn't have to be organizations out there to handle such punishments. You are correct.... the public should not hand out punishments, but if they didn't there would be so many more animals dieing every day due to abusive treatment.

Lauren there is no need to kill an animal for the purpose of food we can get the same nutrients that we get from animal in grains and vegetables. The reason so many people refuse to do this is because they are selfish not wanting to deprive their pallets.

10calama ~ Yahhhh you actually do like animals! You probably mean the ones that are not on your plate at dinner time?

I wonder if you would feel the same way, Lindalu, if a group "punished" you by burning down your house because they felt the, lets say, littering laws in this country aren't harsh enough. If anyone feels that any law is not harsh enough, they should go through the proper channels to try and change the law. They should write to their congressmen or something. Violence against people and propery is NEVER the answer!

Also, I have NEVER insulted your being a vegetarian, I would appreciate it if you didn't insult my being an omnivore. God himself made me an omnivore and I am obliged to remain one.

I don't kill animals to please my pallet, are animals killed so you can eat? Yes! You don't see whats on your plate as animals, you see them as a meal. I dont insult, I just say how it is. Sure... you may love your dog, but it is apparent you only love domestic animal.

Also I don't litter either, not only is it unhealthy for the environment it is also unhealthy for the wild life.

I pride myself in having the ability to see every meal as an animal. For example I sometimes cut peices of meat of a deer my family has shot and cook it right there. I have no problem eating animals. Lastly, the littering thing was an example to how radical animal groups have no right to be vigilates.
