Is this breed known to attack shrubs?? He has destroyed 5 shrubs so far. Help!! He just rips them up and eventually pulls them out of the ground. We live on an acre, so he is allowed to run with our Australian Cattledog. We live up against woods, and he could pull apart all the plants he wants in the woods, but seems most interested in the expensive ones up against the house. How do I stop this - rescued him from Humane Society. He is 1 year old.

if you want the dog to be people friendly you need to let him stay in the room when ppl are over. if you put him out or locked in a room he will become aggresive over ppl coming around cause he gets locked up everytime company comes around. now you can make him lay in another room so long as he can see whats going on. house breaking i found w. every dog i have is really easy. when a dog is inside they use the bathroom inside bc they associate outside w. the FUN area so they dont wanna potty out there. so all you have to do is make it an outside dog for a month or so. that way when you finally let him come in he will associate inside as the fun area and wont wanna potty where it plays. its worked for us. and its better than beating them.

I have a boxer/pitt mix she is 2 1/2 years old and still goes in the house every once in a while. I think she is acting out when she does it. She always lets me know she has to go out by walking over and pawing at the door. But sometimes she wont do that...i will find a nice little suprise in my bedroom. Any suggestions on what to do? I have been told to pop her but I dont want to hit my dog.
She is so loving, great with people and kids even though she likes to jump. Its weird...she only jumps on adults and never children. I took her to a 3 year old birthday (the little girl begged me to bring my dog) Kids were jumping on her back pulling her ears and tail. I was scared when i saw it going on, but all she did was lick all the kids to death.

Some not so-bright person on here mentioned a case where the news reported about a lady who tried to kill herself and overdosed on drugs. The lady also had a pittbull she owned and it slept ion the bed with her. Apparently the pitbull attacked her face, tearing it to pieces and took off her nose.
The poster suggests that she heard thatb the dog was REALLY justn trying to wake the owner and keep them alive.

This is the dumbest thing I'v read in my life.
1) The dog ripped her face off.
2) I've never heard of a dog attacking its owner as a means to save thier life.
3) Unless theres some new doggie school.. I don't make the correlation between dogs and CPR. If the lady did acctually OD on drugs and was dieing...AND her breathing stopped... How would a dog attacking her face wake her from death, resucitate breathing and reverse the toxic effects of the drugs she took?
Do peope think? or just believe?

I have a Boaxador..... Boxer/Lab mix... great dog. He is Brindle in color front to back with a little white on the chest and neck. He looks like a long legged pit bull. Loves everyone and other dogs.

I am thinking of getting a boxer/pitbull mix. I have had dogs before as a teenager and child at my fathers house. I had a rottwiller and a pit. but know i will be an adult with roommates. It will be a puppy and I want to train it to be good with people and listen. Does this seem like a good idea for a frist dog? I know training is hard for puppies but what about this mix?

I have 4 pitbulls (2 rednose & 2 bluenose). And I love them to death... they're all angels!
It's sad that people judge them, yes, these headlines are trying to get their points across, BUT don't blame the dog, BLAME THE OWNER... Bad up bringing = a BAD dog. It's not the dogs fault he/she had a BAD human. He/She knows ONLY what he/she is taught. My thing is, if you can't care for your pit... DON'T GET ONE!
Pitbulls owners require lots of time, lots of patience and lots of love, ... If you ain't got the time, love or the patience... Don't get a PIT... get a Chihuahua.

A-L-O-H-A!!

4 my PiTs...

Lol!!! Thats so true except for the part about getting a Chihuahua. I have a Chihuahua and let me tell you..... they are not easy little critters. I would much rather a Pit over a Chihuahua. I know you wasn't meaning it literal when you said get a Chihuahua, but it struck me comical when you said that I had to comment on it.

VERY ADOPTABLE BRINDLE BOXER PIT: Anyone in California who may be looking (or know someone) to adopt a sweet, vivacious, wickedly smart, loyal and loving 'human like' dog? Our 4 year old little girl Arjo - a brindle boxer pit - is pretty sad. We had a baby a year ago and just can't give Arjo the attention she deserves and craves. We also have an ailing 130 pound 12 year old dog that can't play with her anymore and have to keep them apart a lot. We also can't walk both dogs at the same time with a stroller so we've resorted to just keeping her out back a lot, and it's killing us.

We've had her since a really small pup - 'fostering' her after someone found her shivering under a car. She has a LOT of love to give, and is a blast to play with, run with, snuggle with, anything. She is very good with kids and other dogs - her faults would be that she loves to chase anything that runs (like dogs, cats, squirrels, skateboards), and also gets excited on her leash or at our house if other dogs walk past, but would NEVER hurt a fly. She appropriately guards and protects you and the house - mostly from other dogs and scarey strangers, but just barks like crazy (or if she were to get loose, she would just charge up to whomever, then wag her tail and lick them). Scares the crap out of people, but it's really good if you want to keep people away from your house.

Overall I'd say she is a really incredible dog for someone who is a dog lover and considers them companions - also likes feeling safe. If you work long hours, have other dogs or children that take up more of your time...she may not be for you. Ideal would be an active single person or couple who is home more than not, and has some sort of back yard and/or loves walking or running everyday with her. (keeps you in shape :) )

She is in excellent condition/health, is up to date on ALL her shots, etc. and always gets admired by passerbyers b/c of her 'good looks' and sweetness. I can email photos (from pup to present day - with children, other dogs, etc. as well)

LMK if you know of anyone or have any ideas on how we can get her safely adopted SOON. We have to make sure she is going to a good home so they must be OK with us checking out the pad and following up (avoiding predators) - dog lovers will always be OK with this. We will travel a bit, and are willing to take her back if it doesn't work out.
THANKS for any/all help!!
