oh well enjoy your day off

Thanks! Are you at home with your kids or do you work outside of the home? I wish I could stay at home or only work a few hours a week. I'm about to curl up on the couch and watch movies with my little man.

right now i'm a stay at home mommy but eventually after the baby's born i would like to go back to work.

That's great, so you get to spend time with your kids now while they are little. Daycare gets expensive, that's the only downside to having more kids for us. So what did you do beofre the kids?

before kids i did hair. so the good thing is i do the family's hair and we save money on going to a salon.

That's great! I wish I could do hair. I tried to trim my son's once, it was just a little long by his ears. It's not easy, and it didn't turn out well. Now I leave it to the pros. Do you want to be full or part time when you go back?

at first part-time would be best but after awhile i would like to go back to full-time. Are your cramps any better sweetie?

Do you have short or long hair?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 5:02 PM
Not really, it's just in my left side though and it's really low. Kinda strange and I feel a little sick to my stomach. It's more pain than cramping though, not sure what to make of it. I would think it was ovulation, but that's already passed, if it doesn't get better I'll check with my Dr. I'd love to work part time but I carry the insurance, so that won't be happening anytime soon. At least I work with nice people.

What do you do again?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 5:13 PM
Halfway down my back, so I guess long. I used to keep it shoulder length and had a cute cut, before my son. I worked PR and had to look good for presentations and tv spots. I switched jobs and now it's just easier to pull it up, plus it takes less time..

Name: Leah | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 5:20 PM
wow that is pretty long. Have you ever thought of cutting it short again? is it straight or curly?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 5:24 PM
I have a degree in psychology but of course don't use it, I got pregnant before I got into graduate school and it's really hard to get a job with my degree without at least a master's degree. (At least a good paying one.) Did PR work at the bloodbank for 5 years and last year switched to a pharmacy as a tech. I got certified and they pay really well and the benefits are great. At my last job I had a hard time leaving, I loved it so much but the director felt strongly that mothers should stay at home or at least be part time. I got tired of hearing about it.

Yeah, I would like to get it shorter, and I need to get back in and get it highlighted again anyway. I have straight hair but it has some curl in it now after having my son. When it's wet it's really curly, but after it dries it's more of a kink. I have to curl or straighten it if I leave it down cuz it looks funny.

that's too bad i hate it when bosses treat us badly. One of my gf's got pregnant and was told by her boss that when she got about 6 months along that she wasn't pulling her weight and suggested she quit. Can you believe that?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 5:37 PM
Wow, did she leave? I wouldn't. They were great to me through my whole pregnancy. My boss thought it was great, said people couldn't say no to a pregnant woman. It did help me with recruiting donors! Anyway after my son was born they really pushed me to go part time and I was told that I couldn't be a good mother and work full time. It was stressful and they kept dumping more work on me so I was taking home lots too. After I quit, they hired a full time and 2 part time employees to help out. (The part timers are mom's with little one.) I still see everyone though and it was better for me to move on. It's kinda nice to work under someone and not have to answer to all of the issues, as a tech I just go in and do my job, then I'm done at the end of the day. It's nice, but I think it's harder work, we're always so busy.

Yeah she left it was so stressful for her. But after the baby came she found a better job. So how often do you work?
do you have to go in on weekends at all?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 5:49 PM
That's good for her! I finally left but they were nice about it and even through me a going away party and gave me gifts. It was so hard to leave! I work full time and for the first time in over 6 years, I do have to work weekends. It's hard, but they are god about rotating them and it's more laid back on the weekends. I do misws having more time with my family though. That's something that I need to fix before the next one comes along. We pay for daycare weekly so if I have to work the weekend and have 2 days off during the week, I still have to pay. We have a great daycare provider though, and it's not too bad, so I don't mind.

wow you do work a lot. Sometimes i miss the salon but i do get to do my friends and neighbors hair from time to time so that keeps my skills in shape at least i hope so.

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 5:56 PM
I only put in 40 hrs a week and then I'm done. It's actually nice, but I wish it were less sometimes. I think when you have a skill like yours you just jump back in. I'm sure you'll have no problems. You must be popular with your neighbors too.

Name: Leah | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 6:34 PM
Yeah they call me from time to time to do not only there hair but there kids hair too. It's fun to keep up on there hairstyles too. How often do you get yours done?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 6:39 PM
Not often enough! I used to go in every 6 weeks, but now I try to get in every couple months. I love my stylist and now it's harder to get in with my schedule since it's so erratic. My son goes in way more often though and he loves it.

Name: Leah | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 7:08 PM
that's too bad you can't get in more often i love getting my hair done and try to have it done every two to three weeks if at all possible.

Name: Leah | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 7:41 PM
Chris are you still on honey?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 8:21 PM
Yep, I'm still around. My little guy was curled up in my lap, finaly put him down. Poor thing is so worn out! Jessica, a doula is someone who assists in your labor, to keep you comfortable.

Name: Leah | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 8:28 PM
Oh poor little guy. You must be tired too huh? Hey i was wondering if your cramps are any better?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 9:11 PM
I know, sick kids just break your heart. He's out again, had a temp, my work called to see how he was doing. I think they were worried about tomorrow...but it was sweet anyway. I'm still pretty sore, not sure what's going on, I remember when I was pregnant with my son I thought I had terrible pms, so I don't know. If it isn't better soon I'll check with my Dr. I just hate to call and go in and find out it's nothing.

Name: Leah | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 9:15 PM
Yeah i know how that is. I hate seeing the dr only to find out it's nothing. In your heart do you think you are preggo?

Name: Chris R | Date: Apr 5th, 2006 9:21 PM
A little just because I feel so bad, but then again, I have been off of the pill and that's been tough too. I just hate to call and go in for nothing, and I know they will make me come in because of the last year I've had. It's been long for me and I have been in every 3 months for checkups. I will be sooo glad when they push that back. At least I have a really cool Dr.
