I haven't said anything for a while about my chinchilla. Lately I've been busy with a new boyfriend. We are planning to start breeding chinchillas once he gets a female. Well, actually I told him I would get it because he lives so far away and I'm the one who has the male chinchilla. Problem is that I need money to buy another. I will in time but not at the moment. Breeding chinchillas seems like an awesome idea. Don't you think? Plus the babies are so cute. How could I possibly resist the temptation to breed them? And my chinchi is getting really antsy about it. He needs a mate. lol

I have a question. Me and my boyfriend are searching for a female to buy or adopt and I had found one that is blind. Is it okay to mate a blind female chinchilla with a sighted male chinchilla? I'm scared to find out, but I wanna give the poor girl a home. I would love to adopt her. But the whole point in my search is to find a mate for my chin and breed them. So is it ok to breed a blind chin?

Hi I have a question. I just sold my pet chinchillas last Thursday, that I have had for about 8 yrs. The teenager who bought them just informed me that the female was doing good and then when he came home from school today she was laying on the bottom of the cage not moving. His mother took her to the vet and she passed away there. The vet has no idea what she died from. Could it of been the stress of the move?

I adopted a chin chilla from the care home where i worked he is lovely i really love him to bits i have tried to encourage to come out of his cage but only he seems to do is come just into the opening of the cage then runs away. He spent alot of time on his own in on of the lounges at the home I was really the only one who took care of him.i have had him a few months now I have sat at the side of his cage on and off so that he gets use to me but will not come onto my hand to stop he will take treats off my hand but that all he does .would love him to come out I have a play pen for him that he as never used. Are some chins unwilling to come out of their cages aswell please any ideas
